Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Field of the Invention

The present disclosure relates to an anti-fog mask having a function of blocking, when a wearer of glasses or goggles breathes through his/her nose and mouth while wearing the mask, exhaled breath from the nose and mouth from reaching the surface of lenses of glasses or goggles, thereby preventing fogging on the surface of lenses of glasses or goggles.

Description of the Related Art

In general, when a mask is worn on the face of a wearer, a gap is created between the mask and the curved part of the wearer's face between the bridge of the nose and the cheeks of the wearer. Exhaled breath from the nose and mouth moves upwardly from an upper portion of the mask through this gap and as it reaches the surface of lenses of glasses or goggles of the wearer, causes fogging on the surface of lenses, thereby impeding the field of vision of the wearer.

In an effort to solve such a problem, Korean Utility Model Registration No. 20-0422159 Y1 discloses a technique in which an iron core coated with synthetic resin, that is, a resin iron core, is horizontally combined with an upper portion of a mask. However, due to very low elasticity and insufficient length of the resin core inserted between the mask and the face, there is a great limit in blocking exhaled breath from the nose and mouth from moving upwardly from the upper portion of the mask.

Furthermore, Korean Patent No. 10-1532558 B1 discloses a technique in which a plurality of guide protrusions are formed to protrude on one surface of a mask body and a blocking film is formed on an upper side of the mask body. However, since the shape of the face and the height of the bridge of the nose is different for each person, there is a certain limit in effectively and precisely blocking the gap between the mask and the curved part of the face, and there are inconveniences in a manufacturing process.

In addition, Korean Patent No. 10-1971468 B1 discloses a technique in which an upper panel is horizontally formed on an upper end of a mask body and a breath blocking film is vertically formed on a lower end of the upper panel. However, there is still a limit in blocking exhaled breath from the nose and mouth from moving upwardly from the upper portion of the mask.

The foregoing is intended merely to aid in the understanding of the background of the present disclosure, and is not intended to mean that the present disclosure falls within the purview of the related art that is already known to those skilled in the art.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In light of the foregoing, an objective of the present disclosure is to solve the above problem of a conventional anti-fog mask in which when wearing the mask, exhaled breath from the nose and mouth of a wearer moves upwardly from an upper portion of the mask through a gap between a mask body inner surface and the curved part of the wearer's face between the bridge of the nose and the cheeks of the wearer and causes fogging on the surface of lenses of glasses or goggles of the wearer.

In order to achieve the above objective, according to one aspect of the present disclosure, there is provided a mask having a function of blocking exhaled breath from the nose and mouth of a wearer from moving upwardly from an upper portion of the mask through a gap between a mask body inner surface and the curved part of the wearer's face between the bridge of the nose and the cheeks of the wearer, thereby preventing fogging on surface of lenses of glasses or goggles of the wearer.

The mask according to the present disclosure is an anti-fog mask including a plastic film adhesive part. The plastic film adhesive part is formed by horizontally attaching a long plastic film with very high adhesiveness and flexibility and with constant width to the uppermost end of a mask body, and has a function of allowing the upper portion of the mask to adhere flexibly to the face along the curved part of the face. Therefore, the plastic film adhesive part can completely block exhaled breath from the nose and mouth from moving upwardly from the upper portion of the mask through the gap between the mask and the curved part of the face between the bridge of the nose and the cheeks, thereby preventing fogging on surface of lenses of glasses or goggles.

In addition to the plastic film adhesive part, the anti-fog mask according to the present invention may further include an elastic member blocking part. The elastic member blocking part is formed by horizontally inserting a long elastic cushion with constant diameter or thickness below the plastic film adhesive part on a mask body inner surface, and has a function of allowing the mask body inner surface to make close contact with the curved part of the face by protruding to an inner surface of the mask by an amount equal to the diameter or thickness of the cushion inserted therein. Therefore, the elastic member blocking part can primarily block exhaled breath from the nose and mouth from moving upwardly from the upper portion of the mask through the gap between the mask and the curved part of the face between the bridge of the nose and the cheeks. In addition, the plastic film adhesive part can secondarily completely block residual external air and upwardly moving exhaled breath that remain after the primary blocking by the protruding elastic cushion of the elastic member blocking part, thereby preventing fogging on the surface of lenses of glasses or goggles.

Hereinafter, a specific configuration of the present disclosure will be described.

The anti-fog mask according to the present disclosure may include a mask body, the plastic film adhesive part formed horizontally on the mask body inner surface, a plastic fixing member formed horizontally on the mask body at a longitudinal upper end of the mask body and configured to be deformable by an external force, and a pair of mask straps.

In order to more completely block fogging, in addition to the plastic film adhesive part, the anti-fog mask may further include the elastic member blocking part formed horizontally on the mask body.

More specifically, the mask body may include the mask body inner surface and a mask body outer surface.

In addition, the mask body may include one or two or more mask body filter surfaces.

Furthermore, the plastic film adhesive part may be formed on the mask body inner surface in a long strip shape extending in the horizontal direction of the mask, that is, the direction perpendicular to the direction from the nose to the eyes (glasses direction; vertical direction), so as to block exhaled breath from the nose and mouth.

Furthermore, the elastic member blocking part may be further provided in addition to the plastic film adhesive part. The elastic member blocking part may be made of a material having a cushioning property. The elastic member blocking part may be formed horizontally on the mask body inner surface, or may be formed horizontally between the mask body inner surface and the mask body outer surface, or may be formed horizontally between the mask body inner surface and the mask body filter surface.

Meanwhile, the present inventors have paid attention to the fact that it is very important that a plastic film adheres perfectly to the face in order to completely block exhaled breath by the plastic film adhesive part, and have conducted repeated research and revealed that the type, flexibility, rigidity, thickness, specific gravity, etc. of the plastic film have to be comprehensively taken into account in order to improve the adhesiveness of the plastic film, thereby completing the present disclosure.

First, it has been revealed that with respect to the type of plastic film, a general plastic film such as polyethylene and polypropylene may be used, but polyethylene is particularly preferred.

Second, it has also be revealed that the thickness and specific gravity of the plastic film are very important factors, the most important factor influencing the adhesiveness is the flexibility determined by the mutual combination of the thickness and specific gravity of the plastic film, and the durability of the plastic film is also an important factor to ensure that the film can be attached without being damaged in the process of attaching the film to the mask.

According to the above research results, it has been revealed that when considering the “flexibility and adhesiveness” and the “durability” comprehensively, it is preferable in terms of both the flexibility and durability that the film of the plastic film adhesive part is a polyethylene film having a thickness in the range of 2.5 to 30 μm and a specific gravity in the range of 0.80 to 0.95.

The anti-fog mask according to the present disclosure can solve the problem of the conventional anti-fog mask by blocking exhaled breath from the nose and mouth of the wearer from moving upwardly from the upper portion of the mask through the gap between the mask body inner surface and the curved part of the wearer's face between the bridge of the nose and the cheeks of the wearer, thereby preventing fogging on the surface of lenses of glasses or goggles of the wearer. The specific effects are as follows.

First, the plastic film adhesive part is formed by horizontally attaching the long plastic film with very high adhesiveness and flexibility and with constant width to the uppermost end of the mask body so as to have a function of allowing the upper portion of the mask to adhere flexibly to the face along the curved part of the face. Therefore, the plastic film adhesive part can completely block exhaled breath from the nose and mouth from moving upwardly from the upper portion of the mask through the gap between the mask and the curved part of the face between the bridge of the nose and the cheeks, thereby preventing fogging on the surface of lenses of glasses or goggles.

Second, the elastic member blocking part, which may be further provided, is formed by horizontally inserting the long elastic cushion with constant diameter or thickness below the plastic film adhesive part on the mask body inner surface, and has a function of allowing the mask body inner surface to make close contact with the curved part of the face by protruding to the inner surface of the mask by an amount equal to the diameter or thickness of the cushion inserted therein. Therefore, in addition to the effect achieved by the plastic film adhesive part, the elastic member blocking part can primarily block exhaled breath from the nose and mouth from moving upwardly from the upper portion of the mask through the gap between the mask and the curved part of the face between the bridge of the nose and the cheeks. Then, the plastic film adhesive part can secondarily completely block residual external air and upwardly moving exhaled breath that remain after the primary blocking by the protruding elastic cushion of the elastic member blocking part, thereby preventing fogging on the surface of lenses of glasses or goggles.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The present disclosure, advantages of the present disclosure, and objectives achieved by the present disclosure will become apparent from the detailed description of the following embodiments in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

It should be understood that the present disclosure is not limited to the following embodiments and may be embodied in different ways, and that the embodiments are given to provide complete disclosure of the present disclosure and to provide a thorough understanding of the present disclosure to those skilled in the art. The scope of the present disclosure is defined only by the claims.

Hereinafter, an anti-fog mask according to an embodiment of the present disclosure will be described in detail with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2.

In the following description, detailed descriptions of well-known functions and constructions will be omitted to avoid obscuring the subject matter of the present disclosure.

FIG. 1 is a perspective view illustrating the anti-fog mask according to the present disclosure. FIG. 2 is a sectional view taken along line A-A′ of FIG. 1.

As illustrated in FIGS. 1 and 2, the anti-fog mask according to the embodiment of the present disclosure may include a mask body 100, a plastic film adhesive part 200 formed horizontally on a mask body inner surface 110, a plastic fixing member 500 formed horizontally on the mask body 100 at a longitudinal upper end of the mask body 100 and deformable by an external force, and a pair of mask straps 400.

According to another embodiment of the present disclosure, in order to more completely block fogging, in addition to the plastic film adhesive part 200, the anti-fog mask according to the embodiment of the present disclosure may further include an elastic member blocking part 300 formed horizontally below the plastic film adhesive part 200 of the mask body 100.

According to another embodiment of the present disclosure, the mask body 100 has the mask body inner surface 110 and a mask body outer surface 120, and may further has one or two or more mask body filter surfaces 130.

According to another embodiment of the present disclosure, the elastic member blocking part 300 may be formed on the mask body inner surface 110 in a long strip shape extending in the horizontal direction of the mask, that is, the direction perpendicular to the direction from the nose to the eyes (glasses direction; vertical direction), so as to block exhaled breath from the nose and mouth. The elastic member blocking part 300 may be made of a material having a cushioning property. The elastic member blocking part 300 may be formed horizontally on the mask body inner surface 110, or may be formed horizontally between the mask body inner surface 110 and the mask body outer surface 120, or may be formed horizontally between the mask body inner surface 110 and the mask body filter surface 130. The elastic member blocking part 300 functions to primarily block exhaled breath from the nose and mouth from moving vertically upwardly from an upper portion of the mask.

According to another embodiment of the present disclosure, the plastic film adhesive part 200 may be formed on the mask body inner surface 110 in a long strip shape extending in the horizontal direction of the mask, that is, the direction perpendicular to the direction from the nose to the eyes (glasses direction; vertical direction), so as to block exhaled breath from the nose and mouth and may be formed at the longitudinal upper end of the mask body 100. The plastic film adhesive part 200 functions to secondarily completely block residual exhaled breath from the nose and mouth that still remains after the primary blocking by the elastic member blocking part 300.

According to another embodiment of the present disclosure, it is very important that a plastic film adheres perfectly to the face in order to completely block exhaled breath by the plastic film adhesive part 200, and the type, flexibility, rigidity, thickness, specific gravity, etc. of the plastic film have to be comprehensively taken into account in order to improve the adhesiveness of the plastic film.

According to another embodiment of the present disclosure, first, it has been revealed that with respect to the type of plastic film, a general plastic film such as polyethylene and polypropylene may be used, but polyethylene is particularly preferred.

Second, it has also be revealed that the thickness and specific gravity of the plastic film are very important factors, the most important factor influencing the adhesiveness is the flexibility determined by the mutual combination of the thickness and specific gravity of the plastic film, and the durability of the plastic film is also an important factor.

Here, the “flexibility and adhesiveness” and “durability” according to the thickness of the plastic film are illustrated in Table 1 below.

According to the above results, when considering the adhesiveness, flexibility, and durability comprehensively, the film of the plastic film adhesive part 200 preferably has a thickness in the range of 2.5 to 30 μm. More preferably, the film of the plastic film adhesive part 200 has a thickness in the range of 2.5 to 20 μm. Most preferably, the film of the plastic film adhesive part 200 has a thickness in the range of 2.5 to 10 μm. When the thickness of the film of the plastic film adhesive part 200 is less than 2.5 the film is difficult to adopt because it has poor durability and is difficult to process. On the other hand, when the thickness of the film of the plastic film adhesive part 200 exceeds 30 μm, the film cannot be adopted because it has poor adhesiveness and flexibility.

Meanwhile, in the case of a polyethylene film, it is preferable in terms of both the flexibility and durability that the specific gravity falls within the range of 0.80 to 0.95. Here, when the specific gravity of the film is less than 0.80, the film is difficult to adopt because it has poor durability and is difficult to process. On the other hand, when the specific gravity of the film exceeds 0.95, the film cannot be adopted because it has poor flexibility.

Although a preferred embodiment of the present disclosure has been described for illustrative purposes, those skilled in the art will appreciate that various modifications, additions and substitutions are possible, without departing from the scope and spirit of the present disclosure as disclosed in the accompanying claims.
