The present invention relates to an anti-sagging unit comprising the first anti-sagging unit and the second anti-sagging unit for restoring the sag of the furnishing item.
The furnishing items such as mattress and cushions of chairs are generally made up of foam. If the foam used in the furnishing items is not of good quality it will deteriorate with time. This deterioration is in regards with the firmness of the foam which get affected with the time. The most affected area of the furnishing item is the one on which the user sits or sleeps frequently. This affected area leads to creation of sag in the foam of the furnishing item. These sags are one of the most common reasons for variety of back & shoulder ailments in the people using them. People who become aware of this problem usually replace the furnishing item with a new one but this is not an option for people with budget constraints. Conventionally, to solve this problem people use to place a book, board or a rug under the sagged area of the furnishing item so as to restore the normal position of the foam but after some time the things kept under the furnishing item starts to prick the back of the user which was highly undesirable.
To address this problem, various inventions have been made in this field to improve the comfort of the user.
In the invention U.S. Pat. No. 6,871,369, inventor proposes a kit comprising three paraboloid shaped inserts made up of resilient foam which restores the sagginess of the mattress. Although, these inserts restores the sags of the mattress but after some time the paraboloid shape of the inserts raises the mattress abnormally and forms lumps in the mattress causing discomfort to the user.
In the invention U.S. Pat. No. 6,665,898, the inventor discloses an inflated device to be placed under the sagged area of the mattress. The mentioned inflated device is to be filled with air using an inflation hose and an air pump device. The disadvantage to this invention is that a small rupture in the inflated device makes it non-functional.
In the invention U.S. Pat. No. 3,319,274, the inventor discloses a body to be placed under the sagged area of the mattress. The convex shaped body enables the restoration of the sagged area. Since, the body is of convex shape it raises the area of the mattress and reduces the sag but after some time the convex shape of the body raises the mattress abnormally and forms lumps in the mattress causing discomfort to the user.
Therefore, there remains a need of such an insert which apart from reducing the sag of the furnishing items also provides comfort to the user even after their long term acclimatization with it.
The main objective of the present invention is to overcome the limitations of the prior arts by providing an anti-sagging unit comprising the first anti-sagging unit and the second anti-sagging unit for restoring the sag of the furnishing item.
In order to achieve the above mentioned objective, the present invention provides an anti-sagging unit comprising the first anti-sagging unit and the second anti-sagging unit, wherein the first anti-sagging unit is placed on the base support and the second anti-sagging unit is place on the first anti-sagging unit & also under the sagged area of the furnishing unit. Since, the length of the second anti-sagging unit is longer than the length of the first anti-sagging unit hence it prevents the first anti-sagging unit to form lumps in the furnishing item even after its prolong use and thus provide comfort to the user & also restores the sag from the furnishing item.
Reference will now be made in detail to the exemplary embodiment(s) of the invention, examples of which are illustrated in the accompanying drawings. Whenever possible, the same reference numerals will be used throughout the drawings to refer to the same or like parts.
Here, the first side 108a of the first anti-sagging unit 108 is at least partially in contact with the second side 102b of the base support 102 and the second side 108b of the first anti-sagging unit 108 is at least partially in contact with the first side 110a of the second anti-sagging unit 110. The furnishing item 104 is then placed on the second side 110b of the second anti-sagging unit 110 so that the sag 106 (not shown) is restored from the furnishing item 104.
Step 402: The user determines the sag 106 in the furnishing item 104 placed on the base support 102, wherein the furnishing item 104 is at least one of a mattress, a cushion of the chair or any other furnishing item made up of foam and the base support 102 is at least one of a bed, a chair or any other hard surface.
Step 404: After determining the sag 106 in the furnishing item 104 the user marks the spot 112 perpendicular to the sag 106 on the third side 102c of the base support 102. The marked spot 112 enables the user to determine the corresponding location for placing the anti-sagging unit 100 on the furnishing item 104. It is exemplary to mention that the anti-sagging unit 100 is made up of polylam foam and firmly resists the sagging.
Step 406: The user lifts the furnishing item 104 and places the first anti-sagging unit 108 corresponding to the spot 112 on the base support 102 such that the first side 108a of the first anti-sagging unit 108 is at least partially in contact with the second side 102a of the base unit 102, wherein the user is enabled to place at least one more first anti-sagging unit 108 under the second anti-sagging unit 110.
Step 408: The user further places the second anti-sagging unit 110 over the first anti-sagging unit 108 such that the first side 110a of the second anti-sagging unit 110 is at least partially in contact with the second side 108b of the first anti-sagging unit 108 and the four ends 110a1, 110a2, 110a3 & 110a4 of the second anti-sagging unit 110 are also at least partially in contact with the second side 102a of the base support 102, wherein the length of the second anti-sagging unit 110 is longer than the length of the first anti-sagging unit 108 which prevents the first anti-sagging unit 108 to form lumps in the furnishing item 104 even after its prolong use and thus provide comfort to the user & also restores the sag 106 of the furnishing item 104. The shape and the height of the first anti-sagging unit 108 & the second anti-sagging unit 110 are either same or different from each other. The user is enabled to customize the shape and the height of the first anti-sagging unit 108 & the second anti-sagging unit 110, wherein the shape of the first anti-sagging unit 108 & the second anti-sagging unit 110 is at least one of square, rectangle, circular, oval or any other customized shape.
Step 410: After the placement of the anti-sagging unit 100 over the base support 102 the user places the furnishing item 104 on the anti-sagging unit 100 such that the second side 110b of the second anti-sagging unit 110 is at least partially in contact with the first side 104a of the furnishing item 104.
Step 412: This placement of the furnishing item 104 over the anti-sagging unit 100 enables the restoration of the sag 106 from the furnishing item 104.
Although the exemplary embodiments of the present invention have been described for illustrative purposes, those skilled in the art will appreciate the anti-sagging unit 100 comprising the first anti-sagging unit 108 and the second anti-sagging unit 110 for restoring the sag 106 in the furnishing item 104, wherein the first anti-sagging unit 108 is placed on the base support 102 and the second anti-sagging unit 110 is place on the first anti-sagging unit 108 & under the area of the sag 106 on the furnishing unit 104. Since, the length of the second anti-sagging unit 110 is longer than the length of the first anti-sagging unit 108 hence it prevents the first anti-sagging unit 108 to form lumps in the furnishing item 104 even after its prolong use and thus provide comfort to the user & also restores the sag 106 from the furnishing item 104.
