The present invention is directed to the prevention of wrinkles on the skin in the chest area between a woman's breasts which are caused to appear over time when a woman sleeps or lies on her side when her breasts are unsupported.
When a woman sleeps on her side, her breast on her upper side tends to hang down toward her lower breast causing wrinkles to form in the skin in the center of her chest and neck. To solve this problem, the prior art has provided brassieres for supporting a woman's breasts that are generally designed primarily to support the breasts when the wearer is standing. However, such prior art devices have not been entirely successful in separating the breasts to prevent the wrinkle that forms in between the breasts when the wearer is lying on her side during sleep. Some prior art patents that have attempted to solve this problem are as follows: U.S. Pat. No. 5,897,422, issued Apr. 27, 1999 to McGee, provides a sleeping brassiere that has a back support that extends from the back toward the front of the wearer, a portion encircling the wearer and a pair of cup-shaped breast supports. Each of the breast supports has a generally crescent-shaped portion curving generally around the outside and top of the wearer's breast. The crescent-shaped portion has an upper end adjoining the shoulder supports and a lower end adjoining the portion of the back support encircling the wearer at a position generally between the breasts of the wearer when the brassiere is worn.
U.S. Pat. No. 5,083,555, issued Jan. 28, 1992 to Lewis, shows an apparatus suitable for reducing and preventing skin deformation in proximity to the breasts of a human female when worn between their breasts, which includes a shaped deformable resilient central support member that has a first end and a second end. A removable outer casing encompasses the shaped central support member, the casing has a first casing end adjacent the first support member end and a second casing end adjacent the second support member end. A first closure means is positioned at the first casing end and a second closure means is positioned at the second casing end, the closure means being adapted for enclosing the first and second support member ends within the outer casing. A securing means is on the outer casing between the first and second casing ends, the securing means being adapted for securing the apparatus to the torso of a human female and between the breasts of the female to reduce and eliminate skin wrinkling.
U.S. Pat. No. 5,961,986, issued Oct. 5, 1999 to Killen, discloses an anti-wrinkling apparatus that employs a substrate with an adhesive for securing the apparatus to the user's skin for deterring skin folding and, thus, wrinkles. The substrate is substantially heart shaped, wherein the anti-wrinkling device is applied between a woman's breasts. The anti-wrinkling apparatus has a multiple stacked adhesive and liner layers, as well as a substrate layer, all provided for allowing repeated application and removal. U.S. Pat. No. 5,807,160, issued Sep. 15, 1998 to Wehmeyer, discloses a cleavage-wrinkle protector that is constructed of satin or similar lingerie-type fabric and stuffed with polyester fiberfill. The protector includes stretch lace neck and torso straps. The protector is approximately 6½ inches long and 2½ inches side. The protector is designed to be worn between the woman's breast while sleeping to protect her cleavage skin from folding when she lies on her side. U.S. Pat. No. 1,891,871, issued Dec. 20, 1932 to Donnet, puts forth a brassiere with a resilient, stuff and bent strip with rounded edges that is centrally located, which is adapted as a separating member between the breasts.
Therefore, what is needed is a camisole for sleeping which supports the breasts of a woman sleeping on her side to prevent the upper breast from tending to hang down toward the lower breast and thereby prevent wrinkles in the skin in the center of the upper chest.
The breast support pad per the disclosed invention comprises a body that has on its front face a smooth vertical section with a thick midsection, and on its back face a concave curved cavity on each side of a centrally located smooth vertical surface which conforms to the chest structure between the breasts of a woman. Each concave curved cavity of the breast support pad is adapted for supporting either breast of the wearer while the wearer lies on one side. The disclosed breast support pad may be manufactured using any soft, comfortable, body-conforming material such as but not limited to dense foam, molded material, or any similar material known or the be discovered. The breast support pad may be sized as appropriate to accommodate different body shapes and sizes of the wearer. As an example and not by way of limitation, the breast support pad may be made to be thin and long, thick and short, depending upon the body structure and size of the woman in the chest area. Additionally, the breast support pad may be placed inside a removable and washable casing made of soft, absorbent fabric so to absorb sweat of the wearer during sleep.
The disclosed center breast support pad may also be worn by the user in combination with lingerie during the time the wearer is lying down. The reason for this is that the center breast support pad provides added comfort and support for each breast and this may be beneficial to the wearer who needs the added support during sleep or rest periods.
In use, the center breast support pad may be tucked inside lingerie in the part of the lingerie that is the section located between two breasts. Per another embodiment securement means for the center breast support pad are provided with Velcro strips wherein the lingerie has a matching Velcro section which is located between the two breasts.

In summary, a breast support pad for supporting the upper breast when the wearer of lingerie is lying on one side is disclosed. The breast support pad is place-able generally inside and against the central portion of lingerie between the two curved portions and away from the other portions of the lingerie, the breast support pad comprising a body having a front face with a thick vertical section and a back face adapted to conform with the chest of the wearer between the breasts, the back face comprising a concave cavity on each side of a centrally located vertical surface, each concave cavity adapted to conform to and support either breast when the wearer lies on one side.
Although the present invention has been described with reference to specific exemplary embodiments, it will be evident that the various modification and changes can be made to these embodiments without departing from the broader spirit of the invention. Accordingly, the specification and drawings are to be regarded in an illustrative sense rather than in a restrictive sense.
