Claims
- 1. A method of inhibiting gastric ulcers in a mammal which comprises administering to said mammal in an amount sufficient to inhibit said gastric ulcers a compound of the formula ##STR15## or a pharmaceutically-acceptable cationic salt thereof, wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 taken together are alkylene of 3 to 9 carbon atoms or phenylalkylene of 9 to 11 carbon atoms, with the proviso that the ring system so formed is 5- to 8-membered, and R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 taken separately are each hydrogen or alkyl of 1 to 5 carbon atoms.
- 2. A method of claim 1 wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are taken separately, R.sub.1 is hydrogen or methyl and R.sub.2 is methyl.
- 3. The method of claim 2 wherein R.sub.1 is hydrogen.
- 4. The method of claim 1 wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are taken separately, and R.sub.2 is hydrogen.
- 5. The method of claim 4 wherein R.sub.1 is methyl.
- 6. The method of claim 4 wherein R.sub.1 is ethyl.
- 7. A method of claim 1 wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are taken together and are alkylene of 3 to 6 carbon atoms.
- 8. The method of claim 8 wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 taken together are butylene.
