NRRL 18351 or mutants thereof which produce said antibiotic in a liquid medium containing assimilable sources of carbon, nitrogen and inorganic salts, until substantial antibiotic activity is imparted to said medium and then recovering said antibiotic therefrom.
- 9. The process for producing antibiotics LL-E19085.alpha., LL-E19085.beta., LL-E19085.gamma., LL-E19085.zeta., and LL-E19085.eta. as recited in claim 8, which comprises aerobically fermenting a liquid medium containing assimilable sources of carbon, nitrogen and inorganic salts, which medium has been inoculated with a viable culture of the microorganism Micromonospora citrea sp. NRRL 18351 or mutants thereof, which produce said antibiotic maintaining said fermentation culture at a temperature of about 24.degree.-37.degree. C. for a period of 50-150 hours, harvesting the mash and extracting said antibiotic.
