Claims
- 1. A compound of the structure ##STR8## wherein: n is an integer from 0 to 2 inclusive,
- R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 are independently hydrogen, alkyl having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, alkenyl having from 2 to 6 carbon atoms, alkynyl having from 2 to 6 carbon atoms, cycloalkyl having from 3 to 16 carbon atoms, phenyl, benzyl, tolyl, naphthyl, phenethyl, indanyl, tetrahydronaphthyl, decahydronaphthyl, pyridyl, quinolyl, pyrrolidyl, pyrrolyl, morpholinyl, thiomorpholinyl, furyl, furfuryl, tetrahydrofurfuryl, benzimidazole, thienyl, imidolyl, or tetrahydroindolyl, and where the R.sub.1 to R.sub.5 groups are alkyl, said groups carrying a substituent selected from hydroxy, alkoxy, amino, carboxy, or carbalkoxy, the alkyl group in alkoxy and carbalkoxy having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, or R.sub.2 taken together with R.sub.3 and the carbons to which they are attached is tetrahydronaphthyl or phenyl, and when phenyl R.sub.1 and R.sub.4 are absent; and, R.sub.6 and R.sub.7 taken together with the carbon to which R.sub.6 is attached and the nitrogen to which R.sub.7 is attached form a heterocycle selected from thiazolidine, tetrahydrolisoquinoline, thiomorpholine, or 2,2,5,5-tetramethylthiazolidine, with the proviso that when the heterocycle is thiozolidine R.sub.1 is other than hydrogen, and
- Y is .dbd.O, .dbd.S, .dbd.NR.sub.1, .dbd.NOR.sub.1 or --N--NH.sub.2, R.sub.1 being the same as defined above.
- 2. A compound according to claim 1 wherein R.sub.1 is methyl.
- 3. A compound according to claim 2 wherein R.sub.2 is hydrogen.
- 4. A compound according to claim 3 wherein Y is .dbd.O.
- 5. A compound according to claim 4 wherein R.sub.5 is hydrogen or methyl.
- 6. A compound according to claim 5 wherein n is 0.
- 7. A compound according to claim 5 wherein n is 1.
- 8. A compound according to claim 7 wherein R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are hydrogen.
- 9. A compound according to claim 1 wherein R.sub.6 and R.sub.7 taken together with the carbon to which R.sub.6 is attached and the nitrogen to which R.sub.7 is attached form a heterocycle selected to be a tetrahydroisoquinoline.
- 10. The compound ##STR9##
- 11. The compound hexahydro-4-methyl-6,7,12,13-tetrahydroisoquinoline-[3,2-c][1,4]thiazepine-1,5-dione.
- 12. The compound hexahydro-4-methyl-6,7-dihydroisoquinolino[3,4-c][1,4]thiazepine-1,5-dione.
- 13. The compound hexahydro-4-methyl-10,11dimethyl-6,7,8,13-tetrahydroisoquinolino[1,2-C][1,4]thiazepine-1,5-dione.
- 14. The compound hexahydro-4-methyl-6,8,12,13-tetrahydro-1,7-naphthylidino[6,7-C][1,4]thiazepine-1,5-dione.
- 15. The compound 3-methyl-5,6,11,12-tetrahydroisoquinoline[3,2-C][1,4]thiazine-1,4-dione.
- 16. A compound of the formula: ##STR10## in which R.sup.1 is hydrogen, alkoxy of 1 to 6 carbon atoms, alkyl of 1 to 6 carbon atoms or halo; R.sup.2 is hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 6 carbon atoms or phenyl; and R.sup.3 is hydrogen or alkyl of 1 to 3 carbon atoms.
- 17. A compound of claim 16 of the formula: ##STR11## in which R.sup.1 is hydrogen or methoxy; R.sup.2 is hydrogen, methyl or phenyl; and R.sup.3 is hydrogen or methyl.
- 18. The compound of claim 17 which is 3,4,12,12a-tetrahydro-4-methyl-5H-[1,4]thiazepino[4,3-b]-isoquinoline-1,5(7H)-dione.
