Claims
- 1. A method for treatment of liver cirrhosis which comprises administering to a host afflicted with liver cirrhosis an effective amount of at least one carbostyril derivative represented by general formula (1) or a salt thereof: ##STR3## wherein R is a benzoyl group which may optionally be substituted with a lower alkoxy group in the phenyl ring, and the carbon-carbon bond in the 3 and 4 positions of the carbostyril skeleton is a single bond or a double bond.
