Claims
- 1. Apparatus for washing window blinds, said apparatus comprising a wash tank and a rinse tank,
- each of said tanks comprising a bottom wall and upstanding peripheral walls spaced to accommodate a vertical blind and open top;
- each of said tanks being dimensioned to hold a water bath of sufficient depth to cover a window blind disposed within said tank;
- a plurality of first elongated conduits disposed in said wash tank adjacent to the bottom wall thereof, each of said conduits having a first plurality of upwardly facing openings formed therein;
- a Wye fitting having first, second, and third branches;
- a supply conduit interconnected to said elongated conduits and to said second branch of said Wye fitting;
- recirculating pump means having an inlet connected to said wash tank and having an outlet interconnected to said first branch of said Wye fitting;
- said third branch of said Wye fitting being interconnected to a source of air at a pressure of at least 15 psi to form a mixture of pressurized air and water;
- said pressurized air and water mixture being discharged from said upwardly facing openings and forming vortices adjacent to said openings in said elongated conduits when discharged into said water bath in said washing tank;
- a plurality of second conduits disposed in said rinse tank adjacent to the bottom wall thereof, each of said second conduits having a second plurality of upwardly directed openings formed therein; and
- an air supply conduit in communication with each of said second conduits and a source of air at a pressure of at least 15 psi.
- 2. The apparatus of claim 1 in which said pump output pressure is at least 30 psi.
- 3. The apparatus of claim 2 in which an anti-back flow valve is interconnected between said Wye fitting and said pump.
- 4. The apparatus of claim 1 in which said first elongated conduits are disposed substantially parallel to said side walls, and one plurality of said first openings are directed vertically, a second plurality of said second openings are directed at an angle from vertical on a first side of vertical and a third plurality of said openings are directed upwardly at an angle to vertical on the opposite side of said second plurality of openings.
- 5. An apparatus for washing window blinds, the combination of a wash tank comprising a bottom wall and upstanding peripheral walls spaced to accommodate a window blind, and an open top;
- said tank being dimensioned to hold a water bath at a sufficient depth to cover the window blind disposed within said tank;
- a plurality of elongated conduits disposed in said wash tank adjacent to the bottom thereof, each of said conduits having a plurality of upwardly facing apertures formed therein;
- a Wye fitting having first, second and third branches;
- a supply conduit interconnected to said elongated conduits and to said second branch of said Wye fitting;
- recirculating pump means having an inlet connected to said wash tank and having an outlet connected to said first branch of said Wye fitting, said pump output presure being at least 30 psi;
- said third branch of said Wye fitting being connected to a source of air under pressure of at least 15 psi to form a mixture of pressurized air and water; and
- said air and water mixture flowing through said supply conduit and said elongated conduits and being discharged from said openings to form vortices adjacent to said openings in said water bath in said washing tank.
- 6. The apparatus of claim 5 in which an anti-back flow valve is interconnected between said recirculating pump and said Wye.
- 7. The apparatus of claim 5 in which one plurality of said first openings are directed vertically, a second plurality of said second openings are directed at an angle from vertical on a first side of vertical and a third plurality of said openings are directed upwardly at an angle to vertical on the opposite side of said second plurality of openings.
- 8. Apparatus for washing window blinds, said apparatus comprising a wash tank and a rinse tank,
- each of said tanks comprising a bottom wall and upstanding peripheral walls spaced to accommodate a vertical blind and open top;
- each of said tanks being dimensioned to hold a water bath of sufficient depth to cover a window blind disposed within said tank;
- a plurality of first elongated conduits disposed in said wash tank adjacent to the bottom wall thereof, each of said conduits having a first plurality of upwardly facing openings formed therein;
- a supply conduit interconnected to said elongated conduits at a first location;
- recirculating pump means having an inlet connected to said wash tank and having an outlet interconnected to said supply conduit upstream of said first location;
- said supply conduit also being interconnected upstream of said first location to a source of air at a pressure of at least 15 psi to form a mixture of pressurized air and water;
- said supply conduit and said elongated conduits forming a closed fluid passageway to said openings;
- said pressurized air and water mixture flowing through said closed passageway and being discharged from said upwardly facing openings and forming vortices adjacent to said openings in said elongated conduits when discharged into said water bath in said washing tank;
