Claims
- 1. A sewing machine controlling apparatus comprising:
- reversible sewing machine drive means for driving a sewing machine pulley in forward and reverse directions and for moving a needle at least between UP and DOWN positions;
- thread trimming means for providing a thread trimming operation;
- control means for controlling said sewing machine drive means and said thread trimming means;
- needle position detection means for detecting the needle position of said sewing machine;
- rotary angle setting means for setting a rotary angle of said sewing machine pulley, including a jogging angle; and
- wherein said control means operates in a sequence comprising operating said thread trimming means in response to a thread trimmer start signal, stopping said sewing machine a first time, and resuming forward rotation of said drive means after the elapse of a predetermined time at the jogging angle set by said rotary angle setting means, and for stopping said sewing machine a second time.
- 2. A sewing machine controlling apparatus comprising:
- reversible sewing machine drive means for driving a sewing machine pulley in forward and reverse directions and for moving a needle at least between UP and DOWN positions;
- thread trimming means for providing a thread trimming operation;
- control means responsive to a plurality of signals, including an angle storage signal, for controlling said sewing machine drive means and said thread trimming operation;
- needle position detection means for detecting the needle position of said sewing machine;
- rotary angle setting means for setting a rotary angle of said sewing machine pulley; and
- means for measuring the rotary angle of said sewing machine pulley in response to said needle position detection means and for rotating said sewing machine pulley in response to a first angle storage signal entered into said control means and for transferring the measured rotary angle of said sewing machine pulley to said rotary angle setting means in response to a second subsequent angle storage signal.
- 3. The sewing machine controlling apparatus as defined in claim 2, further comprising:
- means for measuring the rotary angle of the sewing machine pulley in accordance with the needle position detection means and rotating said sewing machine when the sewing machine has stopped at a needle UP position after thread trimming and for transferring said measured rotary angle of the sewing machine pulley to said rotary angle setting means in response to said angle storage signal.
- 4. A sewing machine controlling apparatus comprising;
- sewing machine drive means for driving a sewing machine pulley;
- control means responsive to a plurality of signals, including an ultra-low speed signal, for controlling said sewing machine drive means;
- needle position detection means for detecting the needle position of said sewing machine;
- rotary angle setting means for setting a rotary angle of said sewing machine pulley; and
- means for measuring the rotary angle of said sewing machine pulley in a forward direction in accordance with the needle position detection means of said sewing machine in response to an ultra-low speed input signal entered into second control means, for driving said sewing machine reversely at ultra-low speed, for measuring the rotary angle of said sewing machine pulley in a reverse direction, and for transferring a total of the measured rotary angles of the sewing machine pulley to said rotary angle setting means in response to an ultra-low reverse rotation input signal.
- 5. A sewing machine controlling method for sewing a material by a sewing machine having a needle operative within a range between an UP and DOWN position, comprising the steps of:
- setting a rotary angle for a pulley of said sewing machine in a rotary angle setting means;
- receiving a speed command signal to operate said sewing machine;
- detecting the position of said needle during sewing machine operation;
- generating a position detection signal based on said needle position detection;
- obtaining the speed of said sewing machine from said speed command signal and said position detection signal;
- subtracting a first rotary angle of said sewing machine drive pulley at a time when said sewing machine has rotated to a stop at said set rotary angle from a second rotary angle of said sewing machine pulley at which a torque of said sewing machine peaks; and
- transferring the result of said subtraction to said rotary angle setting means.
- 6. The sewing machine controlling method as defined in claim 5, wherein the sewing machine angle having the peak torque value has been set in a range between a needle UP position to a needle DOWN position.
