Claims
- 1. An ear warmer frame comprising:
a first band, said first band defining a channel, said first band including a first ear warmer frame member coupled to an end of said first band; and a second band, said second band being slidably coupleable to said first band, said second band being configured to be inserted into said channel of said second band, said second band including a second ear warmer frame member coupled to an end of said second band.
- 2. The ear warmer frame of claim 1, wherein said second band includes a retaining member, and said retaining member is configured to engage a portion of said first band to couple said first band and said second band together.
- 3. The ear warmer frame of claim 1, wherein said first band includes a passageway and second band includes a retaining member, and said retaining member is configured to engage said passageway to couple said first band and said second band together.
- 4. The ear warmer frame of claim 1, wherein said first band includes a first side surface and a second side surface, said first and second side surfaces defining said channel therebetween, said second band includes its own first and second side surfaces, said first side surface of said second band being configured to engage said first side surface of said first band and said second side surface of said second band being configured to engage said second side surface of said first band.
- 5. The ear warmer frame of claim 4, wherein said first side surface of said first band has a curved shape along the length of said first band, and said first side surface of said second band has a curved shape along the length of said second band, said second band curved shape corresponding to said first band curved shape.
- 6. The ear warmer frame of claim 4, wherein said first side surface of said first band has a concave shape along the length of said first band, and said first side surface of said second band has a convex shape along the length of said second band.
- 7. The ear warmer frame of claim 1, wherein said first band and said second band are coupled together via frictional forces between said first side surfaces and between said second side surfaces.
- 8. A method of assembling an ear warmer frame, the ear warmer frame including a first band having a longitudinal axis and a second band having its own longitudinal axis, the first band defining a channel, said method comprising:
disposing the first band and the second band such that the longitudinal axis of the first band is substantially aligned with the longitudinal axis of the second band; and inserting the second band into the channel of the first band.
- 9. The method of claim 8, wherein the first band includes a passageway and the second band includes a retainer, the retainer being configured to engage the passageway on the first band, said inserting the second band includes inserting the second band so that the retainer passes through the passageway to a position in which the first band is coupled to the second band.
- 10. An ear warmer comprising:
a shell including:
an outer membrane, said outer membrane defining a perimeter; and an inner membrane, said inner membrane defining a perimeter, said outer membrane and said inner membrane defining an interior portion of said shell, said inner membrane being attached along a portion of said outer membrane perimeter, said outer membrane perimeter having a different configuration than said inner membrane perimeter; and a frame configured to be inserted into said interior portion.
- 11. The ear warmer of claim 10, wherein said outer membrane includes a first ear portion, a second ear portion and a middle portion, said inner membrane includes its own first ear portion, second ear portion and middle portion, and said middle portion of said first ear portion being larger than said middle portion of said second ear portion.
- 12. An ear warmer shell comprising:
an outer membrane, said outer membrane defining a perimeter; an inner membrane, said inner membrane being coupled to said outer membrane along a first portion of said perimeter, said inner membrane and said outer membrane defining an interior of the shell; and a pocket membrane, said pocket membrane being coupled to said outer membrane along said first portion of said perimeter.
- 13. The ear warmer shell of claim 12, wherein said outer membrane includes an ear portion, and said ear portion includes said first portion of said perimeter.
- 14. The ear warmer shell of claim 12, wherein said outer membrane includes an ear portion, said ear portion includes said first portion of said perimeter, said inner membrane includes an ear portion, and said inner membrane ear portion is coupled to said first portion of said perimeter.
- 15. The ear warmer shell of claim 12, wherein said pocket membrane is disposed in said interior of said shell.
- 16. An ear warmer comprising:
an ear warmer shell, said ear warmer shell defining an interior region, said ear warmer shell including a membrane coupled to said ear warmer shell, said membrane being disposed within said interior region; and a frame, said frame being configured to be inserted into said interior region and to engage said membrane.
- 17. The ear warmer of claim 16, wherein said membrane is configured so that when a portion of said frame is inserted into said interior region, said frame portion is located between said membrane and a portion of said ear warmer shell.
- 18. The ear warmer of claim 16, wherein said ear warmer shell includes an outer membrane portion and an inner membrane portion coupled to said outer membrane portion, said outer membrane portion and said inner membrane portion defining said interior region therebetween, said membrane being coupled to one of said outer membrane portion and said inner membrane portion, and said membrane being configured so that when a portion of said frame is inserted into said interior region, said frame portion is located between said membrane and one of said inner membrane portion and said outer membrane portion.
- 19. The ear warmer of claim 16, wherein said ear warmer shell includes an outer membrane portion and an inner membrane portion, said membrane and one of said outer membrane portion and said inner membrane portion defining a pocket therebetween, a portion of said frame engages said pocket when the frame portion is inserted into the interior region.
- 20. An ear warmer comprising:
a frame; and an ear warmer shell, said ear warmer shell defining an interior region, said interior region being configured to receive said frame, said ear warmer shell including means for providing cushioning between said frame and a user, said means for providing cushioning being coupled to said ear warmer shell.
- 21. The ear warmer of claim 20, wherein said ear warmer shell includes an inner membrane and an outer membrane, said outer membrane having a perimeter, said inner membrane being coupled to said outer membrane along a portion of said perimeter to form a portion of said interior region therebetween, said means for providing cushioning being coupled along said perimeter portion.
- 22. The ear warmer of claim 21, wherein said means for providing cushioning includes another membrane that is coupled to at least one of said inner membrane and said outer membrane.
- 23. The ear warmer of claim 21, wherein said outer membrane includes an ear portion, and said ear portion includes said outer membrane perimeter portion.
- 24. An ear warmer comprising:
a frame, said frame including a band having a first ear cup portion coupled to an end of said band; and an ear warmer shell, said ear warmer shell including:
an outer membrane; an inner membrane, said inner membrane being coupled to said outer membrane, said inner membrane and said outer membrane defining an interior region therebetween, said interior region being configured to receive said first ear cup portion; and means for preventing said outer membrane and said inner membrane from pulling around said first ear cup portion, said means for preventing being coupled to one of said outer membrane and said inner membrane.
- 25. The ear warmer of claim 24, wherein said outer membrane has a perimeter, said inner membrane is coupled to said outer membrane along a portion of said perimeter, and said means for preventing is coupled along said perimeter portion.
- 26. The ear warmer of claim 24, wherein said means for preventing includes a pocket membrane, said pocket membrane being coupled to one of said outer membrane and said inner membrane.
- 27. A method of assembling an ear warmer shell, the ear warmer shell including an inner membrane and an outer membrane, the outer membrane defining a perimeter, the method comprising:
coupling the inner membrane to the outer membrane along a first portion of the perimeter; coupling a pocket membrane to one of the inner membrane and the outer membrane; and turning the inner membrane and the outer membrane inside out so that the pocket membrane is located between the inner membrane and the outer membrane.
- 28. The method of claim 27, wherein said coupling a pocket membrane includes coupling the pocket membrane to one of the inner membrane and the outer membrane along part of the first portion of the perimeter.
- 29. The method of claim 28, wherein the outer membrane includes an ear portion, and the ear portion includes the first portion of the perimeter.
- 30. The method of claim 27, wherein the inner membrane and the outer membrane define an opening and an interior region therebetween, and the pocket membrane is located in the interior region, said method further comprising:
inserting a frame into the opening and into the interior region, the pocket membrane being configured to engage the frame in the interior region.
