Claims
- 1. A device for removing dents from materials, comprising:
- 2. The device of claim 1, further comprising a handle detachably held to a portion of said at least one magnet.
- 3. The device of claim 2, wherein said handle is an elongated piece of steel or other magnetically responsive metal.
- 4. The device of claim 1, wherein said magnet is a neodymium magnet having a grade or rating of about 10 to 90 T.
- 5. The device of claim 1, wherein said roller is a steel ball bearing.
- 6.
- 7. The device of claim 6, further comprising a protective cover detachably connected to the portion of said at least one magnet that makes contact with said metal.
- 8. The device of claim 6, further comprising a handle grip surrounding said handle.
- 9. The device of claim 6, wherein said handle is an elongated piece of steel or other magnetically responsive metal.
- 10. The device of claim 9, wherein said handle further comprises cold-rolled, high carbon steel.
- 11. The device of claim 6, wherein said magnet is a neodymium magnet having a grade or rating of about 10 to 90 T.
- 12. The device of claim 6, wherein said at least one magnet is tapered such that the portion of the magnet that contacts said metal is smaller in diameter than the portion of said magnet attached to said handle.
- 13. The device of claim 6, wherein said roller is a ball bearing.
- 14. A device for removing dents from metal or other material, comprising:
- 15. The device of claim 14, further comprising a protective cover detachably connected to the portion of said at least one magnet that makes contact with said metal.
- 16. The device of claim 14, further comprising a handle grip surrounding said handle.
- 17. The device of claim 14, wherein said handle is an elongated piece of steel or other magnetically responsive metal.
- 18. The device of claim 17, wherein said handle comprises cold-rolled, high carbon steel.
- 19. The device of claim 14, wherein said magnet is a neodymium magnet having a grade or rating of about 10 to 90 T.
- 20. The device of claim 19, wherein said neodymium magnet is disc-shaped and has a diameter of about 2 inches (5.08 cm) and a thickness of about 0.5 inches (1.27 cm).
- 21. The device of claim 14, wherein said at least one magnet is tapered such that the portion of the magnet that contacts said metal is smaller in diameter than the portion of said magnet attached to said handle.
- 22. The device of claim 14, wherein said roller is a ball bearing.
- 23. A kit for removing dents from metal, comprising:
- 24. The kit of claim 23, further comprising a handle attachable to said at least one magnet, wherein said handle further comprises steel or another magnetically responsive metal.
- 25. The kit of claim 24, further comprising a handle grip.
- 26. The kit of claim 23, further comprising at least one protective cover for attachment to the portion of said magnet that makes contact with said metal.
- 27. The kit of claim 23, further comprising instructions for how to use the contents of said kit.
- 28. The kit of claim 23, further comprising a container of metal polish for use on the surfaces from which dents are removed.
- 29. The kit of claim 23, wherein said at least one magnet is a disc-shaped neodymium magnet having a grade or rating of about 10 to 90 T.
- 30. The kit of claim 23, wherein said at least one roller is a ball bearing.
- 31. A method for removing dents from the metal of a dented musical instrument, comprising the steps of:
- 32. The method of claim 31, further comprising the step of attaching a protective cover to the portion of said magnet opposite said handle.
- 33. The method of claim 31, further comprising the step of placing a handle grip around said handle.
- 34. A method for removing a dent from metal or other two-sided material comprising the steps of:
- 35. The method of claim 34, further comprising the step of attaching a protective cover to the portion of said magnet opposite said handle.
- 36. The method of claim 34, further comprising the step of attaching a handle to said magnet.
- 37. The method of claim 36, further comprising the step of placing a handle grip around said handle.
