Claims
- 1. A reader device adapted for the detection of results of a reaction on a substrate due to application thereon of an article operatively combined with magnetically responsive means and adapted for containing an active constituent, said reader device comprising means for producing a magnetic field for acting on the magnetically responsive means combined with said article to hold the article in operative position with the substrate, viewer means for viewing the substrate and the article applied thereto, measuring means operatively associated with said viewer means for determining the magnitude of any result due to reaction, first electrical means coupled to the measuring means for producing in response thereto, a first electrical signal for each article indicative of the magnitude of the result thereof, second electrical means for producing a second electrical signal for identifying said article, and third electrical means for correlating the first and second electrical signals for said article.
- 2. A reader device as claimed in claim 1 wherein said measuring means comprises an adjustable aperture means.
- 3. A reader device as claimed in claim 2 wherein said adjustable aperture means comprises an iris diaphragm.
- 4. A reader device as claimed in claim 2 wherein said adjustable aperture means comprises a sliding gauge.
- 5. A reader device as claimed in claim 2 wherein said first electrical means comprises a voltage divider.
- 6. A reader device as claimed in claim 2 wherein said second electrical means comprises a position sensing means coupled to said measuring means.
- 7. A reader device as claimed in claim 6 wherein said third means comprises electrical storage means.
- 8. A reader device as claimed in claim 1 wherein said viewer means includes a plurality of viewer devices for viewing respective articles on the substrate and the measuring means includes a respective measuring device for each viewing device.

This is a division of application Ser. No. 716,684 filed Aug. 23, 1976, now U.S. Pat. No. 4,213,825, which is a continuation-in-part of application Ser. No. 502,107 filed Aug. 30, 1974, now U.S. Pat. No. 3,981,776 which in turn is a continuation-in-part of Ser. No. 156,738 filed June 25, 1971 issued as U.S. Pat. No. 3,843,450 which in turn is a continuation-in-part of application Ser. No. 705,539 filed Feb. 14, 1968 and now abandoned.
