- 4. An apparatus for aerobic biological treatment as claimed in claim 2, wherein said fibrous member is crimped plastic fiber or plastic fiber having an irregular cross section.
- 5. An apparatus for aerobic biological treatment as claimed in claim 1, wherein said reactor is a vertical open top circular cylinder.
- 6. An apparatus for aerobic biological treatment as claimed in claim 1, wherein said waste water feeding means feeds waste water to the upper part of said reactor and said treated water discharging means is an overflow pipe rising from the lower part of the reactor.
- 7. An apparatus for aerobic biological treatment as claimed in claim 3, wherein said fibrous member is crimped plastic fiber or plastic fiber having an irregular cross section.
- 8. An apparatus for aerobic biological treatment comprising:
- a reactor having a prescribed height;
- waste water feeding means connected to said reactor for feeding thereto waste water to be treated;
- discharging means connected to said reactor for discharging treated water from the reactor;
- a carrier holder inside said reactor for holding a carrier to which microorganisms easily adhere in such a manner that the carrier occupies approximately an entire plane within a given range of height of said reactor except an inner peripheral portion and a central portion of said reactor;
- air jetting means disposed at least partially inside said reactor below said carrier holder for jetting cleaning air substantially continuously during a treatment operation of the apparatus to separate microorganisms adhered to the carrier;
- means operatively connected to one of said carrier holder and said air jetting means for moving said one of said carrier holder and said air jetting means relative to the other of said carrier holder and said air jetting means substantially continuously at a slow speed along a given track of rotation, said air jetting means being fixed beneath the carrier at a position along said track of rotation and linearly extending in a radial direction nearly perpendicular to the track; and
- air diffusing means disposed at least partially inside said reactor for supplying air to maintain the waste water to be treated in an aerobic atmosphere, said air diffusing means being provided at the inner peripheral portion and/or the central portion of the reactor.
- 9. An apparatus for aerobic biological treatment as claimed in claim 8, wherein said carrier holder has a supporting frame skeleton composed of a parallel pair of horizontal frames and vertical frames connecting said pair of horizontal frames, said vertical frames being each fitted with a carrier for microorganisms comprising a great number of fibrous members radially implanted in said vertical frame as a core.
- 10. An apparatus for aerobic biological treatment as claimed in claim 8, wherein said carrier holder has a supporting frame skeleton composed of a parallel pair of horizontal frames and vertical frames connecting said pair of horizontal frames, said vertical frames each being fitted with a carrier of microorganisms comprising a fibrous member wound around at least two vertical frames.
- 11. An apparatus for aerobic biological treatment according to claim 9 wherein said fibrous member is crimped plastic fiber or plastic fiber having an irregular cross-section.
- 12. An apparatus for aerobic biological treatment as claimed in claim 8 wherein said reactor is a vertical open top cylinder.
- 13. An apparatus for aerobic biological treatment as claimed in claim 8 wherein said waste water feeding means feeds waste water to the upper part of said reactor and said treated water discharging means is an overflow pipe rising from the lower part of the reactor.
- 14. An apparatus for aerobic biological treatment according to claim 10 wherein said fibrous member is crimped plastic fiber or plastic fiber having an irregular cross-section.
- 15. An apparatus for aerobic biological treatment according to claim 8, wherein said air jetting means includes at least two airjetting arms extending radially from an axis of rotation, each of said air-jetting arms including an air-jetting nozzle at a radial distance from the axis of rotation, the radial distance of the air-jetting nozzles being different for different air-jetting arms.
- 16. An apparatus for aerobic biological treatment according to claim 8, wherein said air jetting means includes a plurality of an air-jetting nozzles, said nozzles being angularly and radially spaced from one another.
