The apparatus described herein relates to garments, particularly clothing. Particular embodiments provide apparatus for affixing buttons to garments. This invention pertains to USPTO Cooperative Patent Classification (CPC) A41H—Appliances or methods for making clothes, e.g. For dress-making, for tailoring, not otherwise provided for (machines, appliance, or methods for making particular articles of apparel; A44B—with quick, thread-like, anchoring means avoiding the use of a separate needle and thread; B25B—tools or bench devices not otherwise provided for, for fastening, connecting, disengaging or holding; B25C—hand-held nailing or stapling tools; manually operated portable stapling tools.
All listed referenced prior art found does not address the functionality to fasten, restrain or hold in place a button affixing apparatus similar to this invention. Below is a list of some of the prior art found:
The apparatus is designed to hold securely a garment button e.g. button in place.
Garments incorporate a wide range of fastening mechanisms. The most common is the button.
The apparatus is intended for applying buttons to a garment without a threaded needle. The apparatus is used to attach a button that has either partially or completely separated from a piece of fabric rendering the button inept.
Therefore, it is desirable to develop an apparatus designed for fast and easy attachment of a button to a garment.
Briefly described, the primary object of the invention is to provide an apparatus for applying buttons onto garment fabrics incorporating the structural features enabling the parts to be held in the proper position and clamped in place on the garment firmly.
One aspect of the present disclosure provides an apparatus to securely attach a garment button. The apparatus includes a flat circular disk of necessary circumference from which two protracted parallel prongs extend.
To provide an effortless no sew experience, the two protracted parallel prongs have slightly sharpened tips for easy penetration through the garment fabric for secure capture.
The apparatus is designed to securely hold in place the button by placing the circular disk on top of the button adjoining the disk securely to the button.
The apparatus is coated with an adhesive bonding material on the underside from which the two protracted parallel prongs extend. The two protracted parallel prongs are aligned to the button holes. After alignment the two protracted parallel prongs are pushed through the button holes and the adjoining garment's fabric.
The apparatus is securely attached to the button and its protracted parallel prongs extend from the circular disk through the button and garment's fabric. The two pliable protracted parallel prongs are pinched together resembling a staple after being applied by a stapler. The apparatus is designed to be a fast-easy method to attach a button without needle and thread or sewing know how.
