Abstract
This invention relates to the art of extending boom assisted cutting apparatus having independently controlled axis control for lateral axis rotation.
Description
BACKGROUND OF INVENTION

Heretofore, mowing apparatus have been connected to tractors in various manners and-descriptions, articulated booms assemblies in previously art are able to degrees of motion that provides adequate mobility during cutting operations. Previous art implements have-also provided lateral rotation on fix implements. Cutting equipments are limited in degrees of motion to vertical, horizontal rotation, and pitch operations yielding limitation to lateral rotation while travel along a path of operations.

The present invention provides an apparatus to extent the art by providing lateral degrees of rotation provided by hydraulically positioned cylinders adapted to cutter operation in such a manner to allow greater mobility and positioning. The cutter is mounted upon a boom arm to be used to cut grass, vegetation, and brush along a path of travel at an extended distance from the boom caring equipment such as a tractor to allow cutting is marsh areas, river banks, and steep inclines where heavy cutting cannot travel. As has been seen surfaces which require maintenance are uneven and can be intersected by ditches and stream beds which create depressions in the level plane of the surface being cut. This uneven surface can not be entirely be maintained by current art cutting equipment as the aforementioned ditches and stream beds must be cut over rather than being trimmed down the inclined slope perpendicular to the boom mounted cutters. Additionally previous art cutters are not designed to support great loads that, may be required in the event the transport equipment is in trenched in soft soil. The present invention allows is constructed to permit heavy loading of the equipment to provide leverage to dislodge wheels or tracks as required to maintain mobility along the operating path. Additional advantages are provided through structural members that will allow force loading without creating heavy weight to limit the extending capability of the boom providing the greater distance of boom travel from the mounted transport equipment.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In accordance with the present invention, there is provided at least two or more movable hinges fixed to a load supporting structural member for boom arm attachment. There are also two or more connecting attachments provided on the structural support member and also on the cutter housing provided to attach a movable fluid cylinder used to position the cutter in a selected lateral position. One or more motor(s) are used to provide motive force for cutter blade rotation.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1

The present invention depicts (1) the “T” main support member providing a structural base plate used to structurally bridge, (2a) and (2b) connecting eyes attach by a removable pin to (15) boom positioning cylinder and (16) main boom are connecting. The “T” main support member also connects (7) and (4) hinges to (11) cutter outer body and is also attached to (10) structural support member connecting (11) cutter outer body to (9a) and (9b) skids. Variable positioning cylinders (6) and (14) are connected to “T” main support member (1) with (12a near side) and (12b far side not shown) with a removable pin through a connecting shackle located on both sides of the “T” main support member to positioning cylinders (6) and (14) which connect to removable pin shackles (5) and (13) located on the cutter body (11), that also supports (8) a cutter drive motor.

FIG. 2

Illustrates the degrees of mobility obtained in the present invention (17) indicates up and down movement, (18) indicates forward and backward movement, (19) indicates lateral rotation, (20) indicates side to side movement and (21) indicates forward and backward yawl rotation.

FIG. 3

Illustrates the novel aspect of lateral rotation of the (24) cutter obtained by movement of (21) and (22) cylinders attached to (23) boom held by (24) tractor.
