Claims
- 1. A carrier film for carrying a flexible material comprising: a flexible film composed of ultra high molecular weight high density polyethylene having a molecular weight in excess of 3,000,000, said flexible film having a pair of opposed surfaces, one of said opposed surfaces being roughened, said flexible film having a plurality of perforations formed therein.
- 2. A carrier film for carrying a flexible material as defined in claim 1, in which said flexible film is composed of an ultra high molecular weight high density polyethylene having a molecular weight between 3,000,000 and 5,000,000.
- 3. A carrier film for carrying a flexible material as defined in claim 1, in which said plurality of perforations is arranged in columns.
- 4. A carrier film for carrying a flexible material as defined in claim 3, in which said columns of perforations are staggered.
- 5. A carrier film for carrrying a flexible material as defined in claim 4, in which said columns of perforations are positioned in a center portion of said flexible film, a pair of margins bordering said columns.
- 6. A carrier film for carrying a flexible material as defined in claim 1, having a thickness between 0.001 inch and 0.01 inch.
- 7. A carrier film for carrying a flexible material as defined in claim 6, in which said roughened surface is partially defined by a plurality of glass beads embedded within said flexible film.
- 8. A carrier film for carrying a flexible material as defined in claim 6, in which said roughened surface has a plurality of pyramidal indentations formed therein.
- 9. A carrier film for carrying a flexible material as defined in claim 6, in which said roughened upper surface includes a plurality of triangular cross-section ridges.
- 10. A carrier film for carrying a flexible material as defined in claim 9, in which said triangular cross-section ridges are positioned parallel to a pair of edges of said carrier strip.
- 11. A carrier film for carrying a flexible material as defined in claim 6, further including a silicone oil additive which lowers adhesion of said carrier film.
- 12. A carrier film for carrying a flexible material as defined in claim 1, in which said carrier film is stored on a spool, said spool having a spool hub and a pair of parallel spool faces connected to each of a pair of opposite ends of said spool hub.
- 13. A carrier film for carrying cigar-wrapper tobacco leaves comprising: a flexible film composed of ultra high molecular weight high density polyethylene having a molecular weight between 3,000,000 and 5,000,000, said flexible film having a pair of opposed surfaces, one of said pair of opposed surfaces being roughened; said pair of opposed surfaces being separated by a uniform thickness of 0.004 inch; said pair of opposed surfaces being formed integral with a pair of edges, said pair of edges being separated by a width of 2.0 inch; each of said opposed surfaces having a pair of margins having a width of 0.5 inch; and a plurality of circular apertures formed midway between said margins, each of said circular apertures of said plurality having a diameter of 0.125 inch, said circular apertures of said plurality being arranged in three parallel columns, said three parallel columns being positioned parallel to said pair of edges; said circular apertures being arranged in a plurality of parallel rows, said parallel rows of said plurality being positioned at an acute angle to one of said edges.
