Claims
- 1. An apparatus for opening or cleaning textile fiber flocks or textile fibers, said apparatus comprising:
- at least two adjustable machine elements, each of said at least two adjustable machine elements being capable of performing an opening or cleaning function and capable of influencing a characteristic selected from the group consisting of cleaning intensity and waste quantity;
- at least one means for adjusting each respective one of said machine elements for varying an opening or cleaning characteristic;
- means for facilitating collective control of:
- all of the adjustment means for all machine elements that influence cleaning intensity; and
- all of the adjustment means for all machine elements that influence waste quantity.
- 2. The apparatus as defined in claim 1, wherein said apparatus is a fine cleaning machine having an opening roller and further comprising:
- (a) at least one machine element that influences cleaning intensity which is capable of performing a function selected from the group consisting of:
- (i) variation of a distance between a clamping line at a fiber feed plate and a takeover line on clothing of the opening roller;
- (ii) variation of a distance between a knife edge and a beater circle of clothing of the opening roller; and
- (iii) variation of rotational speed of the opening roller;
- (b) at least one machine element that influences waste quantity which is capable of performing a function selected from the group consisting of:
- (i) variation of a distance between a fiber guide plate and a knife edge of a separation stage of the opening roller, with which the depth of the cut is adjusted; and
- (ii) variation of a length of a separation gap between a knife edge and a fiber guide plate of a separation stage at the opening roller.
- 3. The apparatus as defined in claim 1, wherein said apparatus is a coarse cleaning machine having a cleaning roller and further comprising:
- (a) at least one machine element that influences cleaning intensity which is capable of regulation of rotational speed of the cleaning roller; and
- (b) at least one machine element that influences waste quantity which is capable of performing a function selected from the group consisting of:
- (i) adjustment of grate rod angle arranged at the circumference of the cleaning roller; and
- (ii) regulation of means for varying suction intensity at a screen plate for withdrawing air at the circumference of the cleaning roller.
- 4. The apparatus as defined in claim 1, wherein said apparatus is a carding machine having a licker-in roller and further comprising:
- (a) at least one machine element that influences cleaning intensity which is capable of performing a function selected from the group consisting of:
- (i) variation of a distance between a clamping line at a fiber feed plate and a takeover line on clothing of the licker-in roller;
- (ii) variation of a distance between a knife edge and a beater circle of clothing of the licker-in roller; and
- (iii) variation of rotational speed of the licker-in roller;
- (b) at least one machine element that influences waste quantity which is capable of performing a function selected from the group consisting of:
- (i) variation of a distance between a fiber guide plate and a knife edge of a separation stage of the licker-in roller, with which the depth of the cut is adjusted; and
- (ii) variation of a length of a separation gap between a knife edge and a fiber guide plate of a separation stage at the licker-in roller.
- 5. An arrangement for controlling fiber or flock processing functions, said arrangement comprising:
- means for allocating machine setting values of a machine or machine group of different machines for cleaning fibers, into a first machine operating function representative of the intensity of cleaning of the fibers and a second machine operating function representative of the quantity of fiber waste, said machine setting values being representative of predetermined variations of setting possibilities of setting elements of the machine or machine group;
- means for forming a parameter field representing a region of useful fiber treatment results derived from a respective table whose contents have been empirically determined for the intensity of cleaning of the fibers and for the quantity of fiber waste, respectively, said parameter field establishing an applicable useful range of the setting possibilities of the setting elements of the machine or the machine group with regard to the intensity of cleaning of the fibers and the quantity of fiber waste;
- means for selecting a working point within the parameter field, upon operation of the machine or the machine group, to derive control signals for setting of the setting elements with regard to the intensity of cleaning of the fibers and the quantity of the fiber waste;
- means for employing the derived control signals for setting the setting elements with regard to the intensity of cleaning of the fibers and the quantity of the fiber waste; and
- means for operating the machine or the machine group with such setting of the setting elements, in order to control the machine or the machine group of different machines for cleaning of the fibers.
- 6. The arrangement of claim 5, further including:
- means for displaying settings of the setting elements in response to the derived control signals.
- 7. The arrangement of claim 5, further including:
- means for employing the control signals in a control system for perfecting setting of the setting elements.
- 8. The arrangement of claim 7, further including:
- means for employing the derived control signals for displaying settings of the setting elements, wherein the control signals are capable of being employed in a control system for perfecting setting of the setting elements.
- 9. The arrangement of claim 5, further including:
- means for deriving machine setting values of the first machine operating function from setting elements of a fine cleaning machine which are effective upon the fibers in respect of the cleaning intensity of the fibers;
- means for grouping together into one of the respective tables said derived machine setting values of the first machine operating function representative of the intensity of cleaning of the fibers;
- means for deriving machine setting values of the second machine operating function from setting elements of a fine cleaning machine which are effective upon the fibers in respect of the quantity of waste of the fibers; and
- means for grouping together into a remaining one of the respective tables said derived machine setting values of the second machine operating function representative of the quantity of waste of the fibers.
- 10. The arrangement of claim 5, further including:
- means for deriving machine setting values of the first machine operating function from setting elements of a coarse cleaning machine which are effective upon the fibers in respect of the cleaning intensity of the fibers; and
- means for grouping together into one of the respective tables said derived setting values of the first machine operating function representative of the intensity of cleaning of the fibers.
- 11. The arrangement as defined in claim 5, further including:
- means for deriving setting values of the second machine operating function from setting elements of a coarse cleaning machine which are effective upon the fibers in respect of the quantity of waste of the fibers; and
- means for grouping together into one of the respective tables said derived setting values of the second machine operating function representative of the quantity of waste of the fibers.
- 12. The arrangement as defined in claim 5, further including:
- means for deriving machine setting values of the first machine operating function from setting elements of a coarse cleaning machine which are effective upon the fibers in respect of the cleaning intensity of the fibers;
- means for grouping together into one of the respective tables said derived setting values of the first machine operating function representative of the intensity of cleaning of the fibers;
- means for deriving setting values of the second machine operating function from setting elements of a coarse cleaning machine which are effective upon the fibers in respect of the quantity of waste of the fibers; and
- means for grouping together into a remaining one of the respective tables said derived setting values of the second machine operating function representative of the quantity of waste of the fibers.
- 13. The arrangement as defined in claim 5, further including:
- means for deriving machine setting values of the first machine operating function from setting elements which are effective upon the fibers in respect of the cleaning intensity of the fibers;
- means for grouping together into one of the respective tables said derived machine setting values of the first machine operating function representative of the intensity of cleaning of the fibers;
- means for deriving machine setting values of the second machine operating function from setting elements which are effective upon the fibers in respect of the quantity of waste of the fibers;
- means for grouping together into a further one of the respective tables said derived machine setting values of the second machine operating function representative of the quantity of waste of the fibers;
- means for deriving still further machine setting values of a still further machine operating function from setting elements which are effective upon the fibers in respect of carding of the fibers; and
- means for grouping together into a still further table said derived still further machine setting values of the still further machine operating function which are effective upon the fibers in respect of carding of the fibers.
- 14. The arrangement as defined in claim 5, further including:
- means for deriving machine setting values in respect of bale hardness from setting elements of a bale opening machine which are effective upon the fibers in a bale; and
- means for grouping together into a further table said derived machine setting values in respect of bale hardness.
- 15. The arrangement as defined in claim 9, wherein:
- said means for grouping together into said one respective table of the setting values of the setting elements of the fine cleaning machine comprises means for grouping together into a first group setting values of selectively at least any of the distance of a knife from a beater circle, the distance of a carding element from the beater circle, a clamping distance of a feed trough with respect to clothing of an opening roller, and the rotational speed of the opening roll; and
- said means for grouping together into the remaining one of the respective tables of said derived machine setting values of the second machine operating function representative of the quantity of waste of the fibers comprises means for grouping together into a second group an offset distance between a fiber guide and the knife and the length of a separation gap between the knife and the fiber guide.
- 16. The arrangement as defined in claim 5, further including:
- means for displaying as readable values the machine setting values, thereby permitting the performance of manual total settings of the machine or machine group with the aid of the displayed machine setting values.
- 17. The arrangement as defined in claim 5, further including:
- means for representing the machine setting values as reference values for sensing means and operating means, in order to be able to carry out computer-controlled total settings of the machine or machine group.
- 18. An arrangement for cleaning fibers, said arrangement comprising:
- means for allocating machine setting values of a machine or machine group of different machines for cleaning fibers, into a first machine operating function representative of the intensity of cleaning of the fibers and a second machine operating function representative of the quantity of fiber waste, said machine setting values being representative of predetermined variations of setting possibilities of setting elements of the machine or machine group;
- means for forming a parameter field representing a region of useful fiber treatment results derived from a respective table whose contents have been empirically determined for the intensity of cleaning of the fibers and for the quantity of fiber waste, respectively, said parameter field establishing an applicable useful range of the setting possibilities of the setting elements of the machine or the machine group with regard to the intensity of cleaning of the fibers and the quantity of fiber waste;
- means for deriving control signals for setting of the setting elements with regard to the intensity of cleaning of the fibers and the quantity of waste by selecting a working point within the parameter field upon operation of the machine or the machine group; and
- means for setting the setting elements of the machine or the machine group of different machines based upon said derived control signals.
- 19. An apparatus for adjusting a fiber processing machine or a machine group of different fiber processing machines, said apparatus comprising:
- means for allocating machine setting values of the fiber processing machine or machine group of different fiber processing machines, into a first machine operating function and a second machine operating function, said machine setting values being representative of predetermined variations of setting possibilities of setting elements of the machine or machine group;
- means for forming a parameter field representing a region of useful fiber processing results derived from a respective table whose contents have been empirically determined for the first machine operating function and the second machine operating function, respectively, said parameter field establishing an applicable useful range of adjustment possibilities of the setting elements of the machine or the machine group with regard to the first machine operating function and the second machine operating function;
- means for selecting a working point within the parameter field, upon operation of the machine or the machine group;
- means for deriving control signals, based upon the working point selected, for adjusting of the setting elements with regard to the first machine operating function and the second machine operating function; and
- means for adjusting the setting elements of the machine or the machine group with regard to the first machine operating function and the second machine operating function, based upon the derived control signals.
