Claims
- 1. A cold plate unit comprising
i) a coolant system comprising a primary inlet manifold, a secondary inlet manifold, a secondary outlet manifold and a primary outlet manifold, said coolant system further comprising a first plurality of coolant line segments connecting said primary inlet manifold and said secondary inlet manifold and a second plurality of coolant line segments connecting said secondary outlet manifold and said primary outlet manifold, ii) a fluid system in heat exchange relationship with said coolant system, and iii) a metallic unit which incorporates said coolant system and said fluid system.
- 2. The cold plate unit of claim 1 wherein said first and second pluralities of coolant line segments comprise from 2 to 12 coolant line segments.
- 3. The cold plate unit of claim 1 wherein said fluid system comprises a plurality of separate fluid lines which are interlaced with said first and second pluralities of coolant line segments.
- 4. The cold plate of claim 3 wherein the number of said plurality of fluid lines is less than the number of said plurality of coolant lines.
- 5. The cold plate of claim 1 wherein said fluid system is comprised of stainless steel.
- 6. The cold plate of claim 1 wherein said metallic unit comprises aluminum or an aluminum alloy.
- 7. The cold plate of claim 1 further comprising an insulating material disposed about at least a portion of said metallic unit.
- 8. The cold plate of claim 1 wherein
i) said coolant system defines a cold plate portion and a tower portion, said cold plate portion includes said primary inlet manifold and said primary outlet manifold and said tower portion includes said secondary inlet manifold and said secondary outlet manifold, ii) said fluid system defines a cold plate portion and a tower portion, said portions being in heat exchange relationship with said coolant system, and iii)said metallic unit includes unitary cold plate and tower portions which respectively incorporate said cold plate and tower portions of said coolant and fluid systems.
- 9. The cold plate of claim 8 further comprising a tower sheath disposed about said tower portion of said metallic unit.
- 10. A dispenser unit comprising.
i) a coolant system comprising a dispenser inlet manifold and a dispenser outlet manifold, said coolant system further comprising a plurality of coiled coolant lines, ii) a fluid system in heat exchange relationship with said coolant system, said fluid system being disposed at least partially within said coiled coolant lines, and iii) a metallic unit which incorporates said coolant system and said fluid system.
- 11. The dispenser unit of claim 10 wherein said fluid system comprises a plurality of separate fluid lines.
- 12. The dispenser unit of claim 11 wherein at least one of said plurality of fluid lines comprises a restricter segment.
- 13. The dispenser unit of claim 10 wherein said fluid system is comprised of stainless steel.
- 14. The dispenser unit of claim 10 wherein said metal unit comprises aluminum or an aluminum alloy.
- 15. The dispenser unit of claim 10 further comprising an insulating material disposed about at least a portion of said metallic unit.
- 16. An apparatus for cooling at least one fluid comprising
a) a cold plate unit comprising
i) a coolant system defining a cold plate portion and a tower portion, said cold plate portion comprising a primary inlet manifold, a secondary inlet manifold, a secondary outlet manifold and a primary outlet manifold, said coolant system further comprising a first plurality of coolant line segments connecting said primary inlet manifold and said secondary inlet manifold and a second plurality of coolant line segments connecting said secondary outlet manifold and said primary outlet manifold, ii) a fluid system defining a cold plate portion and a tower portion, said portions being in heat exchange relationship with said coolant system, and iii) a metallic unit which incorporate said coolant system and said fluid system, and b) a dispenser unit comprising.
i) a coolant system comprising a dispenser inlet manifold and a dispenser outlet manifold, said coolant system further comprising a plurality of coiled coolant lines, ii) a fluid system in heat exchange relationship with said coolant system, said fluid system being disposed at least partially within said coiled coolant lines, and iii) a metallic unit which incorporates said coolant system and said fluid system.
- 17. The apparatus of claim 16 wherein cold plate unit and said dispenser unit further comprise fittings adapted to enable engagement of the coolant systems and fluid systems, respectively, of said cold plate and said dispenser unit.
