Claims
- 1. An image transfer sheet for holding a releasable image transferable to hair, said transfer sheet comprising:
- a substrate comprising image release material and one or more superior layers, said one or more superior layers being releasable by heat and/or pressure from said substrate and comprising a gel, said gel comprising water and a glycol compound.
- 2. The image transfer sheet of claim 1 wherein a first superior layer comprises a clear gel.
- 3. The image transfer sheet of claim 2 wherein the first superior layer further comprises one or more colored regions.
- 4. The image transfer sheet of claim 2 further comprising a second superior layer deposited over the first superior layer and comprising one or more colored regions.
- 5. The image transfer sheet of claim 4 further comprising a third superior layer over the second superior layer, the third superior layer comprising a gel.
- 6. The image transfer of claim 5 wherein the third superior layer comprises a clear gel.
- 7. The image transfer of claim 5 wherein the third superior layer comprises a colored gel.
- 8. The image transfer sheet of claim 5 wherein the substrate is an elongated sheet and each of the three superior layers substantially covers the substrate.
- 9. The image transfer sheet of claim 4 wherein the substrate is an elongated sheet and the second superior layer comprises a geometric design.
- 10. The image transfer sheet of claim 1 wherein the substrate comprises a resin bonded fluoropolymer.
- 11. The image transfer sheet of claim 10 wherein the resin bonded fluoropolymer is selected from the group consisting of polytetrafluoroethylene, fluoroethylene polymer, polyfluoro acrylate and mixtures thereof.
- 12. The image transfer sheet of claim 1 wherein one or more of the superior layers comprises metallic particles.
- 13. The image transfer sheet of claim 1 wherein one or more superior layers comprises magnetic particles.
- 14. The image transfer sheet of claim 1 wherein one or more superior layers comprises ferromagnetic particles.
- 15. The image transfer sheet of claim 1 wherein one or more superior layers comprises electrostatic particles.
- 16. The image transfer sheet of claim 1 wherein the substrate further comprises a design.
- 17. The image transfer sheet of claim 1 wherein said one or more superior layers comprises a colored pigment, said colored pigment comprising a design.
- 18. The image transfer sheet of claim 1 wherein each superior layer is dry and comprises relatively low moisture.
- 19. The image transfer sheet of claim 1 wherein said gel comprises a hair gel.
- 20. The image transfer sheet of claim 1 wherein one or more of the superior layers comprise a colored image of a design selected from the group consisting of emblems, logos, flora, fauna, and inanimate objects.
- 21. An image wafer comprising:
- a first superior layer comprising a gel, said gel comprising water and a glycol compound, said first superior layer being shaped in the form of a desired image.
- 22. The image wafer of claim 21 further comprising a second superior layer on the first superior layer and comprising one or more colored regions.
- 23. The image wafer of claim 21 wherein the first superior layer comprises one or more colored regions.
- 24. The image wafer of claim 21 further comprising a second superior layer including a color image said first superior layer comprising a clear gel.
- 25. The image wafer of claim 24 further comprising a third superior layer over the second superior layer, the third superior layer comprising a gel.
- 26. The image wafer of claim 25 wherein the third superior layer comprises a clear gel.
- 27. The image wafer of claim 25 wherein the third superior layer comprises a colored gel.
- 28. The image wafer of claim 21 wherein said gel comprises a hair gel.
- 29. The image wafer of claim 21 wherein the gel is dry and comprises relatively low moisture.
- 30. The image wafer of claim 21 further comprising metallic particles.
- 31. The image wafer of claim 21 further comprising ferromagnetic particles.
- 32. The image wafer of claim 21 further comprising electrostatic particles.
- 33. The image wafer of claim 21 comprising a design.
- 34. The image wafer of claim 21 further comprising a colored image of a design selected from the group consisting of emblems, logos, flora, fauna, and inanimate objects.
- 35. The image wafer of claim 21 further comprising reflective particles.
- 36. A process for forming an image transfer sheet with a releasable image transferable to hair, said process comprising the steps of:
- on a substrate comprising one or more superior layers, said one or more superior layers being releasable by heat and/or pressure from said substrate and comprising a gel, said gel comprising water and a glycol compound.
- 37. The process of claim 36 wherein a first superior layer comprises a clear gel.
- 38. The process of claim 37 comprising the further step of depositing a second superior layer over the first superior layer, said second superior layer comprising one or more colored regions.
- 39. The process of claim 38 further comprising depositing a third superior layer over the second superior layer, the third superior layer comprising a gel.
- 40. The process of claim 39 wherein the third superior layer comprises a clear gel.
- 41. The process of claim 40 wherein the third superior layer comprises a colored gel.
- 42. The process of claim 37 wherein the first superior layer further comprises one or more colored regions.
- 43. The process of claim 36 wherein the substrate comprises a resin bonded fluoropolymer.
- 44. The process of claim 36 wherein the one or more superior layers comprise one or more kinds of particles selected from the group consisting of:
- reflective particles, magnetic particles, ferromagnetic particles and electrostatic particles.
- 45. The process of claim 36 further comprising the step of removing the one or more superior layers comprising said image wafer from the substrate.
- 46. The process of claim 36 wherein each superior layer is dry and comprises relatively low moisture.
- 47. The process of claim 36 wherein said gel comprises a hair gel.
