Claims
- 1. Apparatus comprising, in combination:
- a representational figure having a first side and a second side generally opposed to said first side, said representational figure being manually compressible upon application of forces to said first and second sides;
- a receptacle extending through said representational figure between the first and second sides thereof, said receptacle including a face plate located at said representational figure first side and defining an aperture for receiving at least one object, and a receptacle body attached to said face plate and defining an interior disposed within said representational figure for receiving said at least one object, said receptacle body being collapsible upon application of said forces to said representational figure first and second sides and including a collapsible side wall formed of material permanently pleated prior to collapse of said receptacle body.
- 2. The apparatus according to claim 1 wherein said receptacle additionally includes a rear plate operatively associated with said receptacle body for selectively opening or closing said receptacle body, said rear plate being located at the second side of said representational figure and allowing manual access to said receptacle body interior from said second side when open.
- 3. The apparatus according to claim 1 wherein said at least one object has indicia thereon, said face plate and said rear plate being transparent whereby the interior of said receptacle body and indicia on said at least one object in said interior may be observed from either of the first and second sides of said representational figure.
- 4. The apparatus according to claim 1 wherein said at least one object is a disk and wherein said aperture is a slot for receiving said disk.
- 5. The apparatus according to claim 1 wherein said representational figure is a teddy bear and wherein said first side is the front of said teddy bear and wherein said second side is the rear of said teddy bear, said receptacle extending from the abdomen of said teddy bear to the back of said teddy bear.
- 6. Apparatus for diagnosing and treating psychological trauma in a child, said apparatus comprising, in combination:
- a representational figure having a first side and a second side, said second side spaced from and in general opposition to said first side;
- a receptacle extending through said representational figure between the first and second sides thereof, said receptacle including a face plate located at said representational figure first side, a rear plate located at said representational figure second side, and a receptacle body extending between said representational figure first and second sides, said receptacle body defining an interior located within said representational figure, said face plate defining an aperture communicating with said receptacle body interior whereby at least one object may be inserted through said aperture into said receptacle body interior, and said receptacle face and rear plates being transparent whereby the interior of said receptacle body and any objects in said interior may be observed from either one of the first and second sides of said representational figure; and
- a plurality of objects from which said at least one object is selected by said child, each of said objects being distinctive in appearance from all of the other of said objects, and the appearance of each object representative of either the nature or intensity of emotional feelings.
- 7. The apparatus according to claim 6 wherein said receptacle body is at least partially comprised of a collapsible wall, said wall being collapsible when generally opposed forces are applied to said representational figure first and second sides.
