Claims
- 1. A welding apparatus for joining slotted first and second connecting pipes including facing contact surfaces to be welded as located relative to each other and including an inner connecting pipe of a diaphragm section as well as an outer connecting pipe of another adjoining diaphragm section installed in a slotted wall, said apparatus comprising:
- a joining unit having a frame on which are mounted pressure rollers which engage against an inner wall of said inner connecting pipe, said frame being moveable longitudinally of said connecting pipes; and
- a heating device connected to said joining unit which effects said joining, said heating device projecting through at least one of the slotted connecting pipes to a positioning between the contact surfaces to be welded as to the inner and outer connecting pipes included therewith, said pressure rollers serving to press facing contact surfaces against each other upon plasticizing of said facing contact surfaces by said heating device.
- 2. An apparatus according to claim 1, in which said device which effects said joining comprises two wedge-shaped heating plates which are disposed between facing contact surfaces of said first and second connecting pipes, are connected to said frame of said joining unit, and are provided with heating wires as well as connections therewith for the supply of power.
- 3. An apparatus according to claim 2, in which said joining unit is further provided with nozzles for cleaning said facing contact surfaces of said connecting pipes; said nozzles are connected via a pressure line to a supply source, and introduce a stream in the direction of said facing surfaces.
- 4. An apparatus for fusing together the slotted inner connecting pipe of a diaphragm section with the slotted outer connecting pipe of another diaphragm section in a slotted wall, said apparatus being moveable through the interior of said inner connecting pipe; said apparatus comprising:
- a profiled fusing piece disposed between said inner and outer connecting pipes and having a part which projects inwardly through the slot of said inner connecting pipe;
- a heating device for heating said profiled piece and said connecting pipes which are to be fused together;
- at least one pressure mechanism which follows said heating device in the direction of movement of said apparatus during fusing; and
- at least one deforming member, which follows said heating device in the direction of movement of said apparatus during fusing, for bending said projecting part of said profiled piece outwardly against said outer connecting pipe during movement of said apparatus during fusing; said deforming member can be shifted between an operating position and a rest position.
- 5. An apparatus according to claim 4, in which said deforming member is formed by a part of said pressure mechanism.
- 6. An apparatus according to claim 4, in which said deforming member is separate from said pressure mechanism, and is disposed transverse to the direction of movement of said apparatus.
- 7. An apparatus according to claim 6, in which said deforming member is pivotably mounted about a spindle which extends transverse to the direction of movement of said apparatus.
- 8. An apparatus according to claim 7, in which said deforming member has a plate-like end section with an inclined end face.
- 9. An apparatus according to claim 8, which includes a pulling device for effecting said shifting of said deforming member, with the latter being spring-loaded in the direction of its operating position.
- 10. An apparatus according to claim 9, in which said deforming member is connected with said pressure mechanism, which has at least one freely rotatable roller means.
- 11. An apparatus according to claim 10, in which said roller means can be shifted by said pulling device between an operating position and a rest position.
- 12. An apparatus according to claim 11, which includes carriers for said roller means, and abutments for supporting said carriers in the operating position of said roller means.
- 13. An apparatus according to claim 12, which said roller means includes two rollers, each having its own carrier, with said pulling device being connected to one of said carriers; and which includes a pull member for interconnecting said carriers.
- 14. An apparatus according to claim 13, in which one of said carriers is disposed closer to said heating device than is the other carrier, with said abutment for said one carrier being in the form of a ramp which rises in the direction toward said roller.
- 15. An apparatus according to claim 4, which includes a number of support members, including glide shoes for engaging said outer connecting pipe.
- 16. An apparatus according to claim 15, which includes a housing for accommodating said support members, said deforming member, said pressure mechanism, and said heating device.
- 17. An apparatus according to claim 16, in which said heating device includes a nozzle body having outlet openings for hot air.
- 18. An apparatus according to claim 17, which includes a supply line for supplying hot air to said nozzle body.
- 19. An apparatus according to claim 18, in which said housing is provided with a heat-resistant insert having a through-bore, for air, which communicates with said supply line; and in which said heating device includes a heating element disposed in said through-bore for heating air.
- 20. An apparatus according to claim 4, which, in the vicinity of said heating device, includes at least one guide for said projecting part of said profiled piece.
