Claims
- 1. In a concrete pipe molding apparatus having jacket mold and a mold core, the improvement comprising:
- means for disposing a plastic liner member about a cylindrical member;
- work stand for receiving and positioning the cylindrical member adjacent the core; and
- means for tightening the liner about the cylindrical member.
- 2. The apparatus of claim 1 and further wherein said means for tightening includes a clamp body, side jaws formed in said clamp body for grasping the liner, second jaws coupled to said clamp body for grasping the cylindrical member, and a shoulder area formed into said clamp body.
- 3. Apparatus, as in claim 1 and including
- hook means attached to a liner;
- wire means attached between said hook means to hold the liner wrapped around a mold core; and tension bar means insertable between said wire means and the mold core, twistable to engage the mold core, tension said wire means, and space said wire means away from the mold core, thereby tightening the liner to the mold core;
- said tension bar means further being removable, thereby relieving tension on said wires.
- 4. The apparatus of claim 1 and further wherein said means for disposing includes a liner tensioning means, a clamp fixed to said liner tensioning means for gripping a liner, said liner tensioning means operating to draw a liner onto the cylindrical member.
- 5. The apparatus of claim 4 and further wherein said liner tensioning means includes a bar and a first jaw fixed to said bar, said clamp having a body fixed to said bar, sleeve means slidable along said body, a second jaw fixed on said sleeve means, pin means coupling said body and sleeve means and operable to lock said clamp either in a first open position or a second clamping position.
- 6. The apparatus of claim 1 and further wherein said work stand includes a frame, stop means attached to one of said frame's ends, and yoke means attached to the other of said frame's ends, the cylindrical member being receivable by said stop means and pivotable thereby into engagement with said yoke means, whereby the cylindrical member extends between said stop and yoke means in a rest position for receiving a liner.
- 7. The apparatus of claim 6 and further wherein said yoke means includes support arms pivotally attached to said frame, and yoke arms at a first end thereof pivotally attached to said frame and at a second end thereof selectively attachable along the lengths of said support arms.
- 8. The apparatus of claim 6 and further wherein said frame includes an upright member, said stop means is selectively attachable along the length of said upright member, said stop means having an extended saddle means for receiving the cylindrical member.
- 9. The apparatus of claim 8 and further wherein a shock absorber is fixed to said saddle means for cushioning the receiving and pivoting of the cylindrical member.
- 10. The apparatus of claim 1 and further wherein at least one spacer bar means is fixed to the cylindrical member, said means for tightening acting against said spacer bar means when tightening the liner.
- 11. The apparatus of claim 10 and further wherein said means for tightening includes hook means attached along opposite edges of the liner, single-looped wires engaging said hook means along one liner edge, double-looped wires engaging said hook means along the opposite liner edge, said single- and double-looped wires being tied together to draw the liner against the cylindrical member, said spacer bar means tensioning said wires and spacing said wires from the cylindrical member.
- 12. The apparatus of claim 2 and further wherein locking ring means is formed on the mold core, and said tension bar means includes leg means insertable over said locking ring means.
- 13. The apparatus of claim 7 and further wherein said tension bar means has first and second surfaces disposed at right angles relative to each other, said first surface having a greater transverse dimension than said second surface.
- 14. The apparatus of claim 11 and further including at least one tension bar means removably insertable between said wires and the cylindrical member.
