Claims
- 1. A photographic film loading and unloading apparatus for guiding film into or from a film guide track within a camera, the camera being of a type including an external housing having a movable closure giving access to the film guide track extending between an unexposed film chamber and an exposed film chamber, the film having opposing longitudinal edges, said apparatus comprising:
- a frame;
- means supported by said frame for defining a first pair of opposed guide slots for receiving said longitudinal edges as said film is driven into said camera; and
- means supported by said frame for guiding said film from said first guide slots into said film guide track to load said camera and from said film guide track to unload said camera.
- 2. Apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said opposed guide slots have flared inlets to receive said film.
- 3. Apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said means for guiding comprises a pair of ramps for said longitudinal edges.
- 4. Apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising means defining a second pair of opposed guide slots for receiving said longitudinal edges from said means for guiding as said film is driven from said camera.
- 5. Apparatus according to claim 4, wherein said means for guiding comprises a pair of ramps for guiding said longitudinal edges into or from said camera.
- 6. Apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said frame has a coefficient of thermal expansion in a range of 6 to 8.times.10.sup.-5 in/in/.degree.C.
- a frame;
- means supported by said frame for defining a first pair of opposed guide slots for receiving said longitudinal edges as said film is driven into said camera; and
- means supported by said frame for guiding said film from said first guide slots into said film guide track to load said camera and from said film guide track to unload said camera, said means for guiding including a pair of ramps for said longitudinal edges, said ramps being pivoted to move into said camera when said movable closure is open.
- 8. Apparatus according to claim 7, further comprising means for biasing said ramps to move into said camera when said movable closure opens.
- 9. Apparatus according to claim 7, wherein said ramps comprise further guide slots for receiving said longitudinal edges from said opposed guide slots.
- 10. A loading track according to claim 7, wherein each of said ramps comprises a sensor flag, further comprising a pair of sensors mounted adjacent said ramps to be actuated by said flags when said ramps move into a position for guiding said film into said film guide track.
- 11. Apparatus according to claim 7, wherein said opposed guide slots have flared inlets to receive said film.
- 12. Apparatus according to claim 7, further comprising means defining a second pair of opposed guide slots for receiving said longitudinal edges from said means for guiding as said film is driven from said camera.
- 13. Apparatus according to claim 7, wherein said frame has a coefficient of thermal expansion in a range of 6 to 8.times.10.sup.-5 in/in/.degree.C.
- a frame;
- means supported by said frame for defining a first pair of opposed guide slots for receiving said longitudinal edges as said film is driven into said camera;
- means supported by said frame for guiding said film from said first guide slots into said film guide track to load said camera and from said film guide track to unload said camera, said means for guiding including a pair of ramps for guiding said longitudinal edges into or from said camera;
- means defining a second pair of opposed guide slots for receiving said longitudinal edges from said pair of ramps as said film is driven from said camera; and
- each of said ramps including a guide slot for receiving a film edge from one of said first pair of opposed guide slots as said film is driven into said camera and thereafter for receiving said film edges as said film is driven from said camera into said second pair of opposed guide slots.
- 15. Apparatus according to claim 14, further comprising a resilient member for diverting said film from said guide slots of said ramps to said second pair of opposed guide slots.
- 16. Apparatus according to claim 15, wherein said resilient member blocks said first pair of opposed guide slots until pushed aside by said film as said film is driven into said camera.
- 17. Apparatus according to claim 14, wherein said first and second pairs of opposed guide slots have flared inlets to receive said film.
- 18. Apparatus according to claim 14, wherein said frame has a coefficient of thermal expansion in a range of 6 to 8.times.10.sup.-5 in/in/.degree.C.
