Claims
- 1. An apparatus for manufacturing an ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene thin-wall pipe, comprising:
- an extruder including a grooved cyclinder, and a screw inserted in said grooved cylinder and having a compression ratio of 1 to 2.5;
- a die having an L/D ratio of at least 10, including an inner die connected to an end of said screw and rotated together with rotation of said screw and an outer die connected to said grooved cylinder; and
- a tapered core including a shaft connected to an end of said inner die and rotated together with rotation of said inner die, a tapered portion not rotating together with said inner die and said shaft and having an increasing diameter in a downstream direction such that a maximum outer diameter thereof is larger than a diameter of said inner die, and a cylindrical portion provided continuously to said tapered portion.
- 2. An apparatus for manufacturing an ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene contraction pipe, comprising:
- an extruder including a grooved cylinder, and a screw inserted in said grooved cylinder and having a compression ratio of 1 to 2.5;
- a die having an L/D ratio at least 10, including an inner die connected to an end of said screw and rotated together with rotation of said screw, and an outer die connected to said grooved cylinder; and
- a tapered core including a shaft connected to an end of said inner die and rotated together with rotation of said inner die, and a tapered portion not rotating together with said inner die and said shaft and having an increasing diameter in a downstream direction such that the outer diameter thereof is 1.2 to 3.0 times the diameter of said inner die.
- 3. An apparatus for manufacturing an ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene film, comprising:
- an extruder including a grooved cylinder, and a screw inserted in said grooved cylinder having a compression ratio of 1 to 2.5;
- a die having a L/D ratio of at least 10, including an inner die connected to an end of said screw of said screw extruder and rotated together with rotation of said screw, and an outer die connected to said grooved cylinder;
- a tapered core including a shaft connected to an end of said inner die and rotated together with rotation of said inner die, and a tapered forming member not rotating together with said inner die and said shaft and having an increasing diameter at an angle of 5 to 50 degrees in a downstream direction such that the outer diameter thereof is equal to or more than 3 times the diameter of said inner die; and
- a take-up unit including rolls having a width of 50 to 80% of a folded width of an ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene film formed by said tapered core.
- 4. An apparatus for manufacturing an ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene thin-wall pipe, comprising:
- an extruder including a grooved cylinder, and a screw inserted in said grooved cylinder and having a compression ratio of 1 to 2.5;
- a die having an L/D ratio at least 10, including an inner die connected to an end of said screw of said screw extruder and rotated together with rotation of said screw, and an outer die connected to said grooved cylinder; and
- a tapered core including a shaft connected to an end of said inner die and rotated together with rotation of said inner die, a tapered portion not rotating together with said inner die and said shaft and having an increasing diameter at an angle of 5 to 50 degrees in a downstream direction such that the outer diameter thereof is 1.2 to 3.0 times the diameter of said inner die, and a cylindrical portion provided continuously to said tapered portion with a heat insulating material interposed therebetween.
- 5. The apparatus of claim 2 wherein the maximum outer diameter of said tapered portion is 1.7 to 2.5 times the diameter of the inner die.
- 6. The apparatus of claim 2 wherein the tapered portion has an increasing diameter in the downstream direction of 5 to 50 degrees.
- 7. The apparatus of claim 2 wherein the tapered portion includes a cylindrical portion provided continuously thereto wherein the ratio of the length of the tapered portion to the cylindrical portion is 0.2 to 1.0.
- 8. The apparatus of claim 3 wherein the maximum outer diameter of said tapered forming member is 5 to 7 times the diameter of the inner die.
- 9. The apparatus of claim 3 wherein the tapered forming member has an increasing diameter at an angle of 10 to 30 degrees in the downstream direction.
- 10. The apparatus of claim 3 wherein the tapered forming member comprises a tapered portion and a cylindrical portion provided continuously to said tapered portion wherein the ratio of the length of the tapered portion to the cylindrical portion is 0.2 to 2.0.
- 11. The apparatus of claim 4 wherein the maximum outer diameter of said tapered portion is 1.7 to 2.5 times the diameter of the inner die.
- 12. The apparatus of claim 4 wherein the tapered portion has an increasing diameter in the downstream direction at an angle of 10 to 30 degrees.
- 13. The apparatus of claim 3 wherein the ratio of the length of the tapered portion to the cylindrical portion is 0.2 to 1.0.
