- 6. Apparatus for movably supporting an object to be marked as set forth in claim 1 in which,
- said table assembly includes a first plate secured to said fixed member, a frame member secured to said plate, a second plate member positioned on said frame member and reciprocally movable relative to said first plate,
- said second drive means is reciprocally connected to said movable plate to move said movable plate with said object secured thereto relative to said fixed member to a location beneath said marking device,
- a pair of spaced apart upstanding support members secured to said fixed plate, each said upstanding support member having an upper surface positioned horizontally, and
- said movable plate can be positioned at a preselected position on said support members' top surface portions by said second drive means.
- 7. Apparatus for movably supporting an object to be marked as set forth in claim 1 in which,
- said table assembly includes a first plate secured to said fixed member, a frame member secured to said plate, a second plate member positioned on said frame member and reciprocally movable relative to said first plate,
- said second drive means is reciprocally connected to said movable plate to move said movable plate with said object secured thereto relative to said fixed member to a location beneath said marking device,
- a pair of spaced apart upstanding support members are secured to said fixed plate, each said upstanding support member having an upper surface positioned horizontally, and
- said second drive means is mounted on said stationary base plate between said pair of support members and is drivingly connected to said movable plate for the purpose of moving said movable plate in a preselected direction on said support members' top surface portions.
- 8. Apparatus for movably supporting an object to be marked as set forth in claim 1 which comprises,
- indexing means to pivot said marking device relative to said guide means to provide a preselected angle between said guide means' longitudinal axis and said marking device's longitudinal axis and thereby provide characters of a preselected size inscribed by said marking device on said object.
- 9. Apparatus for movably supporting an object to be marked as set forth in claim 1 which comprises,
- an elongated opening in said base plate with a portion of said marking device extending therethrough.
- 10. Apparatus for movably supporting an object to be marked as set forth in claim 1 in which said guide means comprises,
- a first guide member secured to said support plate and a second guide member secured to said intermediate plate, and
- said guide means arranged to guide said marking device linearly relative to said support member.
- 11. Apparatus for movably supporting an object to be marked as set forth in claim 1 which comprises,
- an indexing drive means connected to and movable with said guide means,
- a rotating indexing wheel having indexing pins extending therefrom,
- stop means secured to a portion of said marking device, and
- means to rotate said indexing wheel and position a preselected indexing pin in abutting relation with said stop means on said marking device to thereby maintain said marking device in preselected angular relation with said object to be marked.
- 12. Apparatus for movably supporting an object to be marked as set forth in claim 1, which comprises,
