Claims
- 1. A sheet processing apparatus comprising:
- input means for inputting a signal indicating whether or not a sheet is to be folded;
- sheet processing means for feeding sheets and then folding the sheets in accordance with the input signal from said input means;
- an ejection unit for ejecting the processed sheets from said sheet processing means;
- a tray for stacking sheets ejected from said ejection unit;
- movement means for changing a height of said tray;
- first detection means for detecting the amount of sheets stacked on said tray by counting sheets ejected from said ejection unit;
- second detection means for detecting the amount of sheets stacked on said tray by detecting that a position of said tray is at a bottom level and by detecting that the top of the sheets stacked on said tray is at a level of said ejection unit; and
- control means for controlling the amount of sheets to be stacked on said tray in accordance with the first detection means when the sheets are folded and controlling the amount of sheets to be stacked in accordance with the second detection means when the sheets are not folded.
- 2. A sheet processing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said control means stops the ejection of said sheets when the first or second detection means detects the stacking of a predetermined amount of sheets.
- 3. A sheet processing apparatus according to claim 2, wherein said tray is provided with a sensor for detecting a presence of a sheet, and a stop state of ejecting sheets is released when said sensor detects that there is no sheet.
- 4. A sheet processing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said control means stops the feeding of said sheets when one of the first and second detection means detects the stacking of a predetermined amount of sheets.
- 5. A sheet processing apparatus according to claim 4, wherein said tray is provided with a sensor for detecting a presence of a sheet, and a stop state of feeding sheets is released when said sensor detects that there is a no sheet.
- 6. A sheet processing apparatus comprising:
- input means for inputting a signal indicating whether or not sheet processing is to be performed;
- sheet processing means for processing sheets in accordance with th signal of said input means;
- an ejection unit for ejecting the sheets from said sheet processing means;
- a tray for stacking the sheets ejected from said ejection unit;
- movement means for moving relatively a position of said ejection unit and a position of said tray to which the sheets are being ejected while the sheets are ejected from said ejection unit; and
- control means for controlling said movement means in accordance with the signal input from said input means.
- 7. A sheet processing apparatus according to claim 6, wherein said processing means folds the sheet, and said input means is adapted to enter a signal indicating whether or not the sheet is to be folded.
- 8. A sheet processing apparatus according to claim 7, further comprising count means for counting the sheets ejected from said ejection unit, wherein said control means controls an amount of movement by said movement means so that the distance between said ejection unit and said tray when a signal indicating that sheet processing is to be performed is input is larger than said distance when a signal indicating that sheet processing is not to be performed is input.
- 9. A sheet processing apparatus according to claim 7, further comprising count means for counting the sheets ejected from said ejection unit, wherein said control means controls an amount of movement by said movement means so as to move a relative position of said ejection unit and said tray in accordance with said counting means, and so that an amount of movement when a signal indicating that sheet processing is to be performed is input is larger than an amount of movement when a signal indicating that sheet processing is not to be performed is input.
- 10. A sheet processing apparatus according to claim 6, further comprising count means for counting the sheets ejected from said ejection unit, wherein said control means controls an amount of movement by said movement means so as to move a relative position of ejection unit and said tray in accordance with said counting means, and so that an amount of movement when a signal indicating that sheet processing is to be performed is input is larger than an amount of movement when a signal indicating that sheet processing is not to be performed is input.
- 11. A sheet processing apparatus according to claim 6, further comprising count means for counting the sheets ejected from said ejection unit, wherein said control means controls an amount of movement by said movement means so that the distance between said ejection unit and said tray when a signal indicating that sheet processing is to be performed is input is larger than said distance when a signal indicating that sheet processing is not to be performed is input.
- 12. A sheet processing apparatus comprising:
- input means for inputting a signal specifying a mode of sheet processing from among a plurality of modes of sheet processing;
- sheet processing means for processing sheets in accordance with the signal input by said input means;
- an ejection unit for ejecting a sheet that was processed by said processing means;
- a tray for stacking the sheets ejected from said ejection unit;
- movement means for moving relatively a position of said ejection unit and a position of said tray to which the sheets are being ejected while the sheets are ejected rom said ejection unit; and
- control means for controlling said movement means in said different modes in accordance with the signal input from said input means.
- 13. A sheet processing apparatus according to claim 12, wherein said processing means folds the sheet a differing number of times, and said input means is adapted to enter a signal indicating the number of times the sheet is to be folded.
- 14. A sheet processing apparatus according to claim 13, further comprising count means for counting the sheets ejected from said ejection unit, wherein said control means controls an amount of movement by said movement means so as to move a relative position of said ejection unit and said tray in accordance with said counting means and the number of times the sheet is to be folded.
- 15. A sheet processing apparatus according to claim 13, further comprising count means for counting the sheets ejected from said ejection unit, wherein said control means controls an amount of movement by said movement means so as to change the distance between said ejection unit and said tray in accordance with the number of times the sheet is to be folded.
- 16. A sheet processing apparatus comprising:
- input means for inputting a signal indicating whether sheet processing is to be performed;
- storage means for storing a previous signal input from said input means each time a current signal is input;
- sheet processing means for processing sheets in accordance with the current signal of said input means and for ejecting sheets therefrom;
- a tray for stacking sheets ejected from said sheet processing means;
- a sensor for sensing presence of a sheet on said tray; and
- control means for controlling whether a sheet is to be stacked onto said tray in accordance with a comparison of the current signal input from said input means and the previous signal which has been stored in said storage means, when said sensor senses a presence of a sheet at the time when stacking of said sheet starts.
- 17. A sheet processing apparatus according to claim 16, wherein said control means enables the stacking of the sheet when the current signal input from said input means and the previous signal which has been stored in said storage means are the same and disables the stacking of the sheet when those signals are different.
- 18. A sheet processing apparatus according to claim 16, wherein said processing means folds the sheet, and said input means is adapted to enter a signal indicating whether or not the sheet is to be folded.
- 19. A sheet processing apparatus comprising:
- input means for inputting a signal specifying the processing to be performed from among a plurality of types of processing for a sheet;
- storage means for storing a previous signal input from said input means each time a current signal is input;
- sheet processing means for processing sheets in accordance with the current signal of said input means;
- a tray for stacking the sheets ejected from said sheet processing means;
- a sensor for sensing a presence of a sheet on said tray; and
- control means for controlling whether a sheet is to be stacked onto said tray in accordance with a comparison of the current signal input from said input means and the previous signal which has been stored in said storage means, when said sensor senses a presence of a sheet at the time when stacking of said sheets start.
- 20. A sheet processing apparatus according to claim 19, wherein said control means enables the stacking of the sheet when the current signal input from said input means and the previous signal which has been stored in said storage means are the same and disables the stacking of the sheet when the signals are different.
- 21. A sheet processing apparatus according to claim 19, wherein said processing means folds the sheet a differing number of times, and said input means is adapted to enter a signal indicating the number of times the sheet is to be folded.
