Claims
- 1. An apparatus for preparing binderfree hot briquettes for smelting purposes, the briquettes made out of metallic iron containing pyrophoric finely divided solids, the apparatus comprising a fluidized bed reactor having a bottom, the fluidized bed reactor capable of containing a fluidized bed of solids, with means at one end of the fluidized bed reactor for supplying the reactor with said finely divided solids and with an outlet conduit for solids at the other end of the fluidized bed reactor, one or more vibration excitors and gas conduits for supplying gas disposed adjacent the bottom of the fluidized bed reactor, a subsequent briquetting press connected to the fluidized bed reactor by the outlet conduit and a briquette cooler, disposed downstream of the briquetting press, wherein a space above the bottom of the fluidized bed reactor is designed as a chamber which comprises at least two sections each having a separate gas conduit, the gas conduits being connected to heating means for producing hot combustion gases and the gas conduits being connected to one or more gas lines for feeding to the fluidized bed reactor in a controllable/adjustable manner a heated, oxidizing gas and a heated inert gas/waste gas, and wherein heating means are provided for heating the oxidizing gas and the inert gas/waste gas.
- 2. An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the chamber comprises three or more sections.
- 3. An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein one or more gas supply nozzles are arranged in a chamber wall of the chamber above the reactor bottom, said gas supply nozzles for extending above the level of solids in the fluidized bed and being equipped with end pieces for engaging the fluidized bed, whereby to communicate with the solids in the fluidized bed.
- 4. An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein a first section of said chamber is connected through a conduit to a cooling air collecting hood disposed above a continuous cooling belt of the briquette cooler.
- 5. An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the fluidized bed reactor is provided with a gas-tight hood comprising one or more waste gas conduits equipped with regulating valves.
- 6. An apparatus according to claim 5, wherein there are two waste gas conduits.
- 7. An apparatus according to claim 5, which further comprises a dust separator connected to said gas-tight hood via said waste gas conduits.
- 8. An apparatus according to claim 7, wherein the dust separator is connected to the gas-tight hood via a conveyor and a connecting conduit, said connecting conduit containing one or more regulating valves.
- 9. An apparatus according to claim 7, further comprising a heat exchanger comprising one or more heat exchange elements, said heat exchanger supplying heat for the heating means for heating the oxidizing gas and the inert gas/waste gas.
- 10. An apparatus according to claim 9, wherein said heat exchanger elements are connected to said feeding gas conduits.
- 11. An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the heating means for the combustion gas comprises one or more burners.
- 12. An apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising a plurality of temperature gauges distributed over the fluidized bed reactor for measuring the temperature of the fluidized bed, whereby as a function of the measured temperatures the temperatures and supplied amounts of hot combustion gas, hot oxidizing gas and hot inert gas and their distribution over the individual sections are capable of being regulated/controlled by means of regulation/control elements.
- 13. An apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising adjustment devices for the fluidized bed reactor for adjusting the reactor inclination.
- 14. An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the vibration exciters are provided with control devices for controlling the vibration amplitude/vibration frequency.
