Claims
- 1. A decorative flower pot assembly, comprising:
- a flower pot having an upper end, an outer peripheral surface and an object opening sized and shaped to accommodate a floral grouping, the flower pot having snap means formed integrally with the flower pot;
- a sheet of material disposed about the outer peripheral surface of the flower pot to provide a decorative cover about the flower pot; and
- a collar adapted to mate with the snap means, the collar engaged against a portion of the sheet of material with the sheet of material disposed between the collar and the flower pot, the collar mated to the snap means such that the collar and the snap means cooperate to secure the sheet of material to the flower pot and such that the collar is interlocked with the snap means to secure the collar to the flower pot.
- 2. The decorative flower pot assembly of claim 1 wherein the flower pot comprises a groove formed in the outer peripheral surface of the flower pot, said groove forming said snap means, the flower pot being disposed in the opening in the collar and at least a portion of the collar being disposable in the groove with a portion of the sheet of material being disposed generally between the collar and the outer peripheral surface of the collar.
- 3. The decorative flower pot assembly of claim 2 wherein the groove extends about substantially the entire outer peripheral surface of the flower pot.
- 4. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein the flower pot comprises a ridge formed on the outer peripheral surface of the flower pot and extending a distance outwardly therefrom, the ridge forming said snap means, and wherein the collar further comprises a groove formed in the inner peripheral surface thereof, the ridge being disposed in the groove when the collar is connected to the flower pot.
- 5. The apparatus of claim 4 wherein the ridge extends about substantially the entire outer peripheral surface of the flower pot, and wherein the groove extends about substantially the entire inner peripheral surface of the collar.
- 6. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein the flower pot comprises a groove formed in the inner peripheral surface thereof forming said snap means, and wherein the collar comprises a ridge formed on the outer peripheral surface and extending a distance outwardly therefrom, the ridge being disposed in the groove in the flower pot.
- 7. The apparatus of claim 6 wherein the groove extends about substantially the entire inner peripheral surface of the flower pot, and wherein the ridge extends about substantially the entire outer peripheral surface of the flower pot.
- 8. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein said snap means is formed on the inner peripheral surface of the flower pot, and wherein the collar is disposed in the object opening in the flower pot, and wherein the sheet of material extends about the outer peripheral surface of the flower pot and a portion of the sheet of material extends over a portion of the inner peripheral surface of the flower pot, the collar engaging the portion of the sheet of material extending over the portion of the inner peripheral surface of the flower pot.
- 9. The decorative flower pot assembly of claim 1 wherein the collar further comprises:
- a card holder connected to the collar for holding a card.
- 10. The decorative flower pot assembly of claim 1 wherein the collar further comprises:
- a bow holder connected to the collar for holdingly supporting a bow.

No. 5,231,794, issued Aug. 3, 1993; which is a divisional of application Ser. No. 07/404,955, filed on Sep. 8, 1989, entitled APPARATUS FOR PROVIDING A DECORATIVE COVER FOR A FLOWER POT USING A COLLAR, now U.S. Pat. No. 5,077,937, issued Jan. 7, 1992; which is a continuation-in-part of 07/365,767, filed Jun. 13, 1989, entitled DECORATIVE COVER FOR HANGING BASKET, now abandoned.
Said application 07/404,955 is also a continuation-in-part of U.S. application Ser. No. 327,996 filed on Mar. 21, 1989, entitled METHOD OF SHAPING AND HOLDING A SHEET OF MATERIAL ABOUT A FLOWER POT WITH A COLLAR, now U.S. Pat. No. 4,901,423, issued Feb. 20, 1990; which is a continuation of U.S. application Ser. No. 232,541, filed Aug. 11, 1988, titled METHOD OF SHAPING AND HOLDING A SHEET OF MATERIAL ABOUT A FLOWER POT WITH A COLLAR, now U.S. Pat. No. 4,835,834, issued Jun. 6, 1989; which is a continuation of U.S. application Ser. No. 06/876,405, filed Jun. 20, 1986, entitled FLOWER POT ACCESSORY, now abandoned.
