Claims
- 1. An apparatus for removing burs from an internal wall of a tubular object, the apparatus comprising:
- a support member;
- a carriage assembly mounted on and slidably movable along said support member during bur removal;
- a drive means carried by said carriage assembly, said drive means comprising an elongated rotating shaft operationally connected to a drive motor;
- a cutting tool member carried by a free end of said rotating shaft, said cutting tool member comprising a plurality of elongated detachable blades for contacting an inner wall of the tubular object and cutting burs from the internal wall of a tubular object while the cutting tool member is being moved in relation to a longitudinal axis of the tubular object, each of said blades being oriented in a substantially parallel relationship to the longitudinal axis of the tubular object during bur cutting removal; and
- a safety by-pass system for terminating advancement and rotation of the cutting tool member in relation to said tubular object when the cutting tool member encounters a severe obstruction.
- 2. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein said blades are spaced about an outer circumference of the cutting tool member.
