Claims
- 1. Apparatus for removing pulp from fruit which has been cut so as to expose a portion of the fruit pulp surrounded by an exposed lip of peel comprising:
- means for directing at least one pressurized jet of gas onto the exposed portion of pulp so as to separate it from the remainder of the fruit;
- means for causing rotation of the fruit relative to said means for directing about an axis of relative rotation;
- means for substantially preventing impingement of said at least one jet of gas on the exposed lip of the peel and including means for engaging an exterior surface of the fruit and means for mounting at least one pressurized jet of gas at a predetermined distance from the means for engaging.
- 2. Apparatus according to claim 1 and wherein said means for engaging is operative to center the fruit about said axis of relative rotation.
