Claims
- 1. Apparatus for the production of a wrapped food, comprising a base plate having front and rear portions, a carriage mounted on said plate for reciprocatory movement between the front and the rear portions of said base plate, a pair of support members arranged on said carriage for detachably mounting an electrically insulated container, which container is adapted to receive therein a material foodstuff, a pair of movement guide members each disposed at either end of said container in spaced-apart relation and arranged above said base plate so as to converge from the front to the rear portions of the base plate, the guide members being engaged by the support members, and a pair of electrode plates each mounted on one of said pair of movement guide members and at either end of the container, said electrode plates being in reciprocatory motion together with the reciprocatory movement of said carriage, whereby when the carriage moves from the front portion to the rear portion of the base plate, the pair of electrode plates move into the container so as to be brought into pressure engagement with opposite ends of the material foodstuff, and when the carriage moves from the rear portion to the front portion of the base plate, the pair of electrode plates move out of the container so as to be brought out of pressure engagement with the material foodstuff.
- 2. Apparatus for the production of a food according to claim 1, wherein said pair of movement guide members each have a free end portion received in a slot formed in a support bar, and a resilient member is mounted at either end of said support bar to urge the free end portions of the movement guide members to move toward each other, whereby the electrode plates can move outwardly together with the movement guide members while being maintained in pressure contact with the material foodstuff when the material foodstuff expands in the process of heating.
- 3. An apparatus according to claim 1 wherein a pair of boxes are arranged on the carriage and disposed below opposite open ends of the container which is supported by the support members, the boxes receiving therein liquid overflow from the wrapped material foodstuff.
- 4. An apparatus according to claim 2 wherein the container has flanges at opposite ends of its outer periphery, for contacting the support members so as to accurately position the container on the support member.
- 5. Apparatus according to claim 1 comprising means for releaseably preventing the reciprocating movement of the carriage.
- 6. Apparatus according to claim 5 wherein the releasing means comprises a locking bar having a plurality of teeth, the locking bar extending in a direction between the front and rear base plate portions; a locking member mounted on the carriage for selectively engaging the teeth.
