- 2. A system for creating a moire pattern on fabric as recited in claim 1, wherein said means for applying pressure includes a pair of calender rolls.
- 3. A system for creating a moire pattern on fabric as recited in claim 1, further comprising a means for printing said first endless web of fabric with a colorant and a means for printing said second endless web of fabric with a colorant.
- 4. A system for creating a moire pattern on fabric as recited in claim 1, wherein said support member includes raised or solid areas and lower or void areas.
- 5. A system for creating a moire pattern on fabric comprising of:
- (a) a first conveyor means for moving a first endless web of said fabric over a support member;
- (b) at least one first liquid jet for directing at least one stream of fluid at the surface of said first endless web of said fabric to provide lateral yarn displacement;
- (c) a means for delivering said liquid to said liquid jet and operatively attached thereto at a peak dynamic pressure in excess of about 300 p.s.i.g. and less than 4,000 p.s.i.g.;
- (d) a means for selectively interrupting said stream of liquid;
- (e) a second conveyor means for moving a second endless web of said fabric over a support member;
- (f) at least one second liquid jet for directing at least one stream of fluid at the surface of said second endless web of said fabric to provide lateral yarn displacement;
- (g) a means for delivering said liquid to said second liquid jet and operatively attached thereto at a peak dynamic pressure in excess of about 300 p.s.i.g. and less than 4,000 p.s.i.g.;
- (h) a means for selectively interrupting said stream of liquid;
- (i) a means for combining said patterned first endless web of said fabric with said patterned second endless web of fabric in overlapping relationship and for applying pressure in the range of between 300 to 10,000 pounds per linear inch to said combination of said first endless web of patterned fabric and said second endless web of patterned fabric.
- 6. A system for creating a moire pattern on fabric comprising of:
- (a) a conveyor means for moving a first endless web of said fabric over a support member;
- (b) a plurality of liquid jets for directing streams of fluid at the surface of said first endless web of said fabric to provide lateral yarn displacement;
- (c) a means for delivering said liquid to each said liquid jet and operatively attached thereto at a peak dynamic pressure in excess of about 300 p.s.i.g. and less than 4,000 p.s.i.g.;
- (d) a means for selectively interrupting said streams of liquid;
- (e) a means for combining said patterned first endless web of said fabric with a second endless web of fabric in overlapping relationship and for applying pressure in the range of between 300 to 10,000 pounds per linear inch to said combination of said first endless web of patterned fabric and said second endless web of fabric.
- 7. A system for creating a moire pattern on fabric as recited in claim 6, wherein said means for applying pressure includes a pair of calender rolls.
- 8. A system for creating a moire pattern on fabric as recited in claim 6, further comprising a means for printing said first endless web of fabric with a colorant and a means for printing said second endless web of fabric with a colorant.
- 9. A system for creating a moire pattern on fabric as recited in claim 6, wherein said support member includes raised or solid areas and lower or void areas.
- 10. A system for creating a moire pattern on fabric as recited in claim 6, wherein said means for selectively interrupting said streams of liquid includes a template.
- 11. A system for creating a moire pattern on fabric comprising of:
- (a) a conveyor means for moving a first endless web of said fabric over a support member;
- (b) a plurality of first liquid jets for directing streams of fluid at the surface of said first endless web of said fabric to provide lateral yarn displacement;
- (c) a means for delivering said liquid to each said first liquid jet and operatively attached thereto at a peak dynamic pressure in excess of about 300 p.s.i.g. and less than 4,000 p.s.i.g.;
- (d) a means for selectively interrupting said streams of liquid;
- (e) a conveyor means for moving a second endless web of said fabric over a support member;
- (f) a plurality of second liquid jets for directing streams of fluid at the surface of said second endless web of said fabric to provide lateral yarn displacement;
- (g) a means for delivering said liquid to each of said second liquid jets and operatively attached thereto at a peak dynamic pressure in excess of about 300 p.s.i.g. and less than 4,000 p.s.i.g.;
