Claims
- 1. A process for providing a substrate with a smooth coating comprising (a) applying on said substrate a powder coating composition prepared by a process comprising the steps of (i) blending a mixture comprised of a poly(vinylidene fluoride) resin, a thermoplastic resin, a pigment, and about 0.1 to 5.0 weight percent, based on the weight of the mixture, of a vinylidene fluoride/tetrafluoroethylene/hexafluoropropylene terpolymer, (ii) pelletizing the blend from (i), and (iii) cryogenically grinding the pellets from (ii); (b) heating said powder coating composition above its melt temperature; and (c) cooling the coated substrate.
- 2. A process as in claim 1 wherein the coating is applied by electrostatic spraying.
- 3. A process as in claim 2 wherein step (b) is conducted at a temperature of about 460 to 500 degrees Fahrenheit.
