DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

Referring to FIGS. 1-4, which are schematic views of embodiments of the present invention, the present invention provides a structure of areca palm made footwear, which comprises an insole 10 and an outsole 20. The insole 10 is formed by cutting an areca palm leaf 30 to a desired size and shape. The outsole 20 is bonded to the insole 10. As such, a wearer's foot 40, when putting on the footwear, is set in contact with the insole 10 made of areca palm leaf 30, whereby besides being environmentally friendly, the footwear can keep the wearer's sole 40 dry by allowing humidity of the wearer's sole to be absorbed by the areca palm leaf 30.

The outsole 20 may be alternatively made of a plasticizable material 21. Or alternatively, the outsole 20 can be made of wood. Further alternatively, the outsole 20 is made of dregs 60 that are formed by pulverizing areca palm trunk and areca palm leaves 30. The outsole 20 can be made by filling the dregs 60 into a mold for shaping. The insole 10 may comprise a Y-shape strap 50 or an X-shaped strap. The insole 10 may be alternatively provided with an arch-like band. The Y-shaped strap 50, the X-shaped strap, or the arch-shape band can be made of plasticizable materials. Alternatively, the Y-shaped strap 50, the X-shaped strap, or the arch-shape band can be made of dregs of pulverized areca palm trunk or areca palm leaves 30. Further, the outsole 20 can be bonded to the insole 10 by glues, adhesives, or riveting.

Referring to FIGS. 1-4, which are schematic views of embodiments of the present invention, the best way of implementing the structure of areca palm made footwear according to the present invention provides is a combined arrangement (see FIG. 1) of an insole 10 and an outsole 20, of which the insole 10 is formed by cutting an areca palm leaf 30 to a desired size. The areca palm leaf 30 is taken from an areca palm and washed and cleaned and is then cut according to the shape and size of a wearer's foot. The insole 10 that is cut from the areca palm leaf 30 (see FIG. 2) is the sun-dried to remove water contained in the areca palm leaf 30. Afterwards, the insole 10 of the dried areca palm leaf 30 is bonded to the outsole 20, wherein a back side of the insole 10 is coated with glue or adhesive in order to have the insole 10 to be tightly bonded to the outsole 20. Alternatively, the insole 10 and the outsole 20 are proper aligned and rivets are put through the insole 10 into the outsole 20 (not shown in the drawings) to have the insole 10 and the outsole 20 securely bonded. Other measures may also be applicable to bond the insole 10 and the outsole 20 together.

Further, the outsole 20 can be made of a plasticizable material (such as plastics and rubbers) (see FIG. 3), such as flip-flops. Alternatively, the outsole 20 can be made of a wooden material (such as wood) (not shown), such as geta. Both the outsole 20 made of a plasticizable material 21 and the outsole 21 made of a wooden material can be boned to the insole 10 that is formed by cutting an areca palm leaf (see FIG. 2) in order to improve wear resistance of the outsole 20, make it comfortable to wear, and extend the lifespan. An alternative way, which is friendlier to the environment, is to collect and pulverize areca palm trunk and areca palm leaves 30 through pounding, allowing juice to drain with dregs 60 left. A mold is provided to receive the dregs 60 to fill therein for shaping to form the outsole 20. The insole 10 that is formed by cutting an areca palm leaf 30 is then positioned on a top surface of the outsole 20 and then glue or adhesive is applied to tightly bond the insole 10 and the outsole 20 together. Alternatively, rivets may be put through the insole 10 in to the outsole 20 (not shown) to securely fix the insole 10 and the outsole 20 together. Thus, both the insole 10 and the outsole 20 are made of materials obtained from areca palm leaves 30 and areca palm trunks, whereby once disposed of, they can naturally decomposed to comply with the idea of environmental conservation.

Further, the insole 10 that is formed by cutting an areca palm leaf 30 is provided with a Y-shaped strap 50. The Y-shaped strap 50 is made of a plasticizable material or dregs 60 formed by pounding and pulverizing areca palm trunks and areca palm leaves 30. The Y-shaped strap 50 has ends extending through the insole 10 and fixed inside the outsole 20 (see FIG. 1) to show a thong-like style. Alternatively, the insole 20 may be provided with an X-shaped strap, which can be made of a plasticizable material or dregs 60 formed by pounding and pulverizing areca palm trunks and areca palm leaves 30. The X-shaped strap has ends extending through the insole 10 and fixed inside the outsole 20 (not shown) to show a sandal-like style. Alternatively, the insole 10 may be provided with an arch-like band, which can be made of a plasticizable material or dregs 60 formed by pounding and pulverizing areca palm trunks and areca palm leaves 30. The arch-like band has ends extending through the insole 10 and fixed inside the outsole 20 (not shown) to show a slipper-like style. As such, besides being environmentally friendly, the footwear can reduce the manufacture cost and keep the wearer's sole 40 dry by allowing humidity of the wearer's sole to be absorbed by the areca palm leaf 30

It is appreciated from the above description that the present invention possesses the following practical advantages:
