Claims
- 1. An arrangement for applying elastic elements to a continuous material web, the arrangement comprising a first roll device for advancing the elastic elements in series one after the other and at a first predetermined speed and a second roll device for advancing the material web at a second predetermined speed, the second speed exceeds the first speed and in that the arrangement further comprises an abutment surface arranged at a distance from the first roll device which is less than a combined thickness of the elastic elements and the material web, an elongation of the elastic elements in their longitudinal direction being realized as they pass between the said first roll device and the abutment surface.
- 2. The arrangement according to claim 1, wherein the abutment surface is defined by a peripheral surface of the second roll device, the material web being guided together with the said elastic elements between the said first roll device and the said second roll device as the said elastic elements are applied.
- 3. The arrangement according to claim 2, further comprising a gluing bay for applying glue to the said material web before the said elastic elements are applied to the material web.
- 4. The arrangement according to claim 1, wherein the abutment surface is defined by a surface of an ultrasonic horn, which is facing the first roll device and is arranged to join together the elastic elements and the material web.
- 5. The arrangement according to claim 4, wherein the ultrasonic horn is arranged such that it rotates.
- 6. The arrangement according to claim 1, wherein the first roll device is provided with means for producing a holding effect for the respective elastic element along the peripheral surface of the first roll device.
- 7. The arrangement according to claim 6, wherein the means comprises a vacuum device.
- 8. The arrangement according to claim 6, wherein the means comprises a coating on a peripheral surface of the first roll device, which coating has sufficiently high friction for the said elastic elements to be held as they are advanced by means of the first roll device.
- 9. The arrangement according to claim 1, wherein the first roll device comprises a mutually adjoining mating roll and gripping roll, the respective elastic element first being advanced on the said mating roll and then on the gripping roll.
- 10. The arrangement according to claim 9, wherein the mating roll is driven at a speed which is lower than the speed of the gripping roll.
- 11. The arrangement according to claim 1, further comprising a cutting device for cutting a continuous web of elastic material into the elastic elements.
- 12. The arrangement according to claim 11, wherein the cutting device comprises a cutting roll adjoining the first roll device.
- 13. A method for applying elastic elements to a continuous material web, the method comprising:
advancing the elastic elements in series one after the other at a first predetermined speed, and advancing the material web at a second predetermined speed, advancing the material web in such a way that the second speed exceeds the first speed, and feeding of the elastic elements between a roll device and an abutment surface arranged at a distance from the first roll device which is less than a combined thickness of the elastic elements and the material web, elongation being obtained of the elastic elements in their longitudinal direction.
- 14. The method according to claim 13, wherein the method further comprises application of glue to the material web prior to the application of the elastic elements.
- 15. The method according to claim 13, wherein the method further comprises cutting of a continuous web of elastic material into the elastic elements.
- 16. An absorbent product, comprising at least one back layer, a surface layer, an intermediate absorbent layer and at least one elastic element, the elastic element being arranged to be applied to the said absorbent product, elongation of the at least one elastic element being realized by means of an arrangement according to claim 1 or in accordance with a method according to claim 13.
- 17. The absorbent product according to claim 16, wherein the absorbent product is a sanitary towel, a panty liner, an incontinence pad, or a diaper.
