- 7. The tool of claim 1 where the control rod is attached to the tool extension by a rotatable hinge.
- 8. A tool comprising an upper handle part having on one end a tool head and, intermediate its length, a plurality of stops and, proximate to the tool head, a slot; the tool head having a tool extension base connected to a tool extension positioned across a rotation permitting fuse line having hooks for connection to a control rod;
the control rod being rotatably connected to the hooks inserted through the slot in the upper handle and connected to a positioner on the other end; a lower handle part, complementary in shape to a side of the upper handle part, opposite to the stops, attached to the upper handle part and enclosing an intermediate portion of the control rod and a positioner, encircling the upper handle part which is connected to the end of the control rod opposite to the connection to the hooks and which interacts with at least one of the stops to fix the position of the control rod and therethrough fix the position of the tool extension for usage.
- 9. The tool of claim 1 where the control rod is one of a flexible cord and chain.
- 10. The tool of claim 1 where the stops are one of holes and slots.
- 11. The tool of claim 1 where the hinge line comprises a groove.
- 12. The tool of claim 1 where the control rod is positioned within a partially enclosing slot.

- 14. The tool of claim 8 wherein the stops are complementary to at least one recess in the connector.
- 15. The tool of claim 8 wherein the lower handle part most proximate to the positioner encloses a threaded hole.
- 16. The tool of claim 8 wherein the upper handle portion of the handle part is concave.
- 17. The tool of claim 8 wherein the upper handle portion of the handle part is curved along its length.
