The present invention relates to articles of manufacture that provide for storage of wigs and compatible luggage for transport of such articles.
The human hair wig market has been growing exponentially due to different factors: women who use a wig to cover their hair for religious reasons; women who are cancer patients and use wigs during treatment to cover their hair loss; those who suffer from androgenetic alopecia; and finally those that use it for fashion—which has been a fashion trend of late. These women have the opportunity to change their hair style, length, color, and look by wearing a wig. Given the amazing increase of wig wearers worldwide, users keep looking for ways to store their wigs and falls in a way that keeps them looking beautiful. Another concern of wig wearers is to save space in their house or hotel.
Women are also looking for a way to travel over the weekend or over longer vacations. Difficult it is to preserve already styled wigs without storage and transportation solutions; women are left to clump their wigs into a ball or put them in a plastic bag. Doing so often means that wigs have lost most of the style by the time a woman arrives at her destination. Furthermore, the current products in the market do not allow for space to carry wigs, as in a carry-on bag for air travel. There have been several attempts to solve the above problems. One attempt is a bag that has one Styrofoam wig head in the middle which allows the owner to carry one wig at a time. It also has space to carry a comb and a brush, but nothing else. There is another attempt in the market in which the equipment breaks apart into a traveling pouch (of course the owner has to carry her wigs in a plastic bag) until she arrives at the destination. At that point, she'll take out the device and adjust it for the length she wants and put one wig on the device—a wig that has lost most of its style.
There is no product available that provides an option for a woman to carry two wigs at the same time. There is no available wig transportation option allowing the wigs to arrive at the destination styled. Furthermore, none of the products in the market affords women the opportunity to be able to carry two wigs, plus their personal items. None of the products in the market, it would appear, were conceived with the fashion-conscious woman in mind. Thus, there is a need in the market for a wig carrier apparatus that will store two wigs or falls at a time, as well as provide storage for make-up and clothes. There is a further commercial need for hair storage and travel luggage that is fashion forward and is indeed a piece of luggage.
The problems stated above are solved by the invention described herein, that is, by the article of manufacture that is, in one embodiment, a single piece, dual support for hanging properly two wigs simultaneously, and by designing compatible carry-on luggage for transport of such an article of manufacture in a manner to insure that both of the stored wigs remain properly styled during travel.
The invention will become more readily apparent form the following description of preferred embodiments thereof shown by way of example only in the accompanying drawings:

The respective wigs are held on first wig head 15 and second wig head 20 by a pin or by a hook and loop system, along with any other means of attachment known to those having ordinary skill in the art. In one embodiment, wig head 15 and wig head 20 are transported as a unitary article, each carrying their respective wigs. The unitary configuration with first front slope 40 and second front slope 45 enable a user to transport up to two wigs in a stable fashion so as to prevent disturbing the styling of either of said wigs.
In one embodiment, double wig head 10 is transported in luggage designed to be compatible with head 10 in order to further reduce the likelihood of disturbing the styling of such wigs during travel. In this embodiment, as shown in
A second embodiment of the dual wig head article of manufacture is shown in
In the preferred embodiment, dual wig head is manufactured from the material known as #4 microcell polyethylene which material is especially desirable since as stated above the two respective wigs are intended to be held on first wig head 15 and second wig head 20 by a pin or by a hook and loop system. The dual wig head parts or unitary construction may be manufactured from a group of materials comprising paper, cardboard, Styrofoam, or plastic, but by constructing wig head 15 and wig head 20, whether separate or unitary, using #4 microcell polyethylene, any chipping away of each wig head by insertion of and removal of pins is greatly reduced, resulting in longer useful life of the article of manufacture 10 of the instant invention. Of course, other materials as well can be used to construct article of manufacture 10 as shown in either
As can be appreciated by one skilled in the art, the drawings shown and the manufacture as described herein represent only certain embodiments of the invention covered hereby and this application does not limit the breadth of the invention covered hereby to any one or more of such embodiments or drawings.
This application claims the benefit of U.S. Provisional Application No. 62/326,295 filed on Apr. 22, 2016.
