Artificial Flower that Attaches to a Vehicle

Abstract

An artificial flower that attaches to the neck of the side view mirror of a vehicle. The artificial flower attaches to a clamp that attaches to a strap. The strap is secured to the neck of the side view mirror via a fastener. The artificial flower is made of a polymer or of an equally resistant material.

Description

BACKGROUND

The present invention is directed to an artificial flower that attaches to the side view mirror of a vehicle.

Typically, artificial flowers are made from different construction materials such as plastics, silk, paper, fabric or the like. Artificial flowers usually have plastic stems which are often colored green and petal sections which can be several colors such as white, red, yellow, etc. These petal sections generally are separate foils or silk colored and shaped sheets that are attached together to simulate a natural flower. The artificial flowers are often used to fit into vases, to decorate centerpieces, and to decorate cars or floats.

The inventor recognized that the ornamental effect of flowers could be used to decorate a vehicle for special events, such as weddings, parties, funerals, parades and holidays. The colorful and symbolic aspects of flowers could be displayed externally on a vehicle to signify special events in an ornamental manner. The inventor saw a need for attaching flowers to the side view mirror of a vehicle for easy visibility and attachment.

The inventor recognized a problem in that, since the flowers were mounted externally to the vehicle, they would be destroyed by external elements, such as wind, rain, ice, and impact. The inventor decided to use artificial flowers made of rubber or foam. This not only enhanced durability of the artificial flowers, but also allowed the inventor enhanced the artificial flowers with fluorescent paint.

The inventor, next needed to devise a mounting mechanism for the artificial flower. Through additional research, the inventor learned that different models of vehicles used different sizes of arms for their side mirrors. The inventor recognized that an adjustable diameter was needed for the fastening mechanism to attach the artificial flower to the side mirror.

Through research, the inventor learned that the best manner for her to the side view mirror would be provide a strap that would wrap around the perimeter of an arm of a side view mirror and that would have an adjustment mechanism that would allow an artificial flower to be snapped or inserted into a specific location of the strap. Through trial and error, the inventor learned that a selective locking mechanisms comprising of a protrusion on one end of the strap and a linear series of holes on the other end of the strap would allow the strap to be securely placed around the perimeter of the arm of the side view mirror. In addition, the linear series of holes that run from one end of the strap toward the other end of the strap provide a flower arrangement attaching mechanism that allows an artificial flower to snapped into one of the holes at a desired display location.

The present application is an improved artificial flower that attaches to the side view mirror of the vehicle. The improvement was occasioned because of the need to provide an attachment holder to the stem of the artificial flower that would withstand the high winds that the flower would receive when attached to the vehicle.

For the foregoing reasons, there is a need for an artificial flower that attaches to the side view mirror of the windows when the vehicle is in operation.

SUMMARY

The Present invention is directed to an artificial flower that attaches to the side view mirror of a vehicle that will withstand the high winds received when the vehicle is in operation.

The artificial flower that attaches to the neck of the side view mirror of a vehicle comprises of an artificial flower that has a neck, a clamp that secures the artificial flower, the camp has a lower hook portion, the lower hook portion of the clamp attaches to a strap that defines a plurality of through holes, and a fastener that is used to secure the strap around the neck of the side view mirror.

The artificial flower is preferably made of a polymer material.

An object of the present invention is to provide an artificial flower that attaches to the neck of the side view mirror of a vehicle that will not fly off when the vehicle is in use.

Another object of the present invention is to provide an artificial flower that attaches to the neck of the side view mirror of a vehicle than can be used at special events and holidays.

DESCRIPTION

The present invention, referenced in FIGS. 1-2 is an artificial flower that attaches to the side view mirror of a vehicle. The artificial flower comprises of a capture clamp 10, the capture clamp has a left 10a and a right clamp securing portion 10b, each securing portion 10a-10b has an interior 10c, an exterior 10d and a lower side 12, the interior sides 10c of the clamps 10 have at least two ribs 14 that extend outward so that when the left 10a and right clamp securing portions 10b are joined together the ribs 14 will be flush upon each other, the lower side of each clamp 12 shall define a hook 16 that extends toward the exterior of each clamp 10d and each hook has an inner portion 16a, each hooks inner portion 16a is designed to run flush with the inner portion 16a of the other hook 16, each clamp securing portion 10,10b defines a tension screw receiver 11 in the interior side of each clamp securing portion and a tension screw through hole 13. A strap 20 that defines a plurality of through holes 22. An artificial flower 30 that has a stem section 32, the stem section 32 is inserted between the left 10a and right clamp securing portion 10b so that the stem section 32 of the artificial flower 30 is secured by the ribs 14 of the clamp securing portion 10,10b when the left and right clamp's interior sides 10c are flush with each other, after the clamp interior sides 10c being flush with each other, then securing the left 10a and right clamp securing portions 10b together with a pair of tension screws 40, the tension screws 40 are placed through the tension screw through holes 13 of each clamp securing portion 10,10b and that are screwed into the tension screw receivers 11, after the clamp securing portions 10,10b are secured to each other, the hooks 16 of the clamps are inserted through the through holes 22 of the strap 20. And, a fastener 50, the fastener is placed trough two through holes 22 of the strap 20 after the strap 20 is secured around the neck of the side view mirror of a vehicle. The artificial flower that attaches to the neck of the side view mirror of a vehicle of claim is made of a polymer.

An advantage of the present invention is that it provides an artificial flower that attaches to the neck of the side view mirror of a vehicle that will not fly off when the vehicle is in use.

Another advantage of the present invention is that it provides an artificial flower that attaches to the neck of the side view mirror of a vehicle than can be used at special events and holidays.

While the inventor's above description contains many specificities, these should not be construed as limitations on the scope, but rather as an exemplification of several preferred embodiments thereof. Many other variations are possible. Accordingly, the scope should be determined not by the embodiments illustrated, but by the appended claims and their legal equivalents.

Claims

1. An artificial flower that attaches to the neck of the side view mirror of a vehicle, the artificial flower comprises: a capture clamp, the capture clamp has a left and a right clamp securing portion, each securing portion has an interior, an exterior and a lower side, the interior sides of the clamps have at least two ribs that extend outward so that when the left and right clamp securing portions are joined together the ribs will be flush upon each other, the lower side of each clamp shall define a hook that extends toward the exterior of each clamp and each hook has an inner portion, each hooks inner portion is designed to run flush with the inner portion of the other hook, each clamp securing portion defines a tension screw receiver in the interior side of each clamp securing portion and a tension screw through hole;a strap that defines a plurality of through holes; andan artificial flower that has a stem section, the stem section is inserted between the left and right clamp securing portions so that the stem section of the artificial flower is secured by the ribs of the clamps when the left and right clamp securing portions interior sides are flush with each other, after the interior clamp securing portions being flush with each other, then securing the left and right clamp securing portions together with a pair of tension screws that are inserted through the tension screw through holes of each clamp securing portion and that are screwed into the tension screw receivers, after the clamps securing portions are secured to each other, the hooks of the clamps are inserted through the through holes of the strap; anda fastener that is placed trough two through holes of the strap after the strap is secured around the neck of the side view mirror of a vehicle.

2. The artificial flower that attaches to the neck of the side view mirror of a vehicle of claim 2, wherein the flower is made of a polymer.
