Claims
- 1. An assembled and folded blank for a bulk container having at least one cell, comprising
- a container body including four wall panels with three integral hinges at vertical score lines serially joining the wall panels and means including a fourth hinge securing the end wall panels of the series of four wall panels together,
- three bottom panels hinged at horizontal score lines on the bottom edges of three of the four wall panels forming an end bottom panel and two side bottom panels on opposite sides of the end bottom panel,
- the two side bottom panels of said three bottom panels being hinged to the opposite sides of the end bottom panel of said three bottom panels by vertical score lines,
- said two side bottom panels having respective partial diagonal score lines extending at one end from the respective corners defined by the vertical and the horizontal score lines,
- said two side bottom panels further having respective cuts extending from the distal edges of the side bottom panels to the other ends of the partial diagonal score lines such as to form partial bellows corners at the bottom end of the bulk container,
- a fourth bottom panel hinged on the bottom edge of the fourth side wall and free of the three bottom panels, and
- said container body being folded flat by having the wall panels thereof folded together about diagonally opposite hinges of the four hinges joining the wall panels.
- 2. An assembled and folded blank for a bulk container as claimed in claim 1 wherein the partial diagonal score lines extend less than 40% of the width across the two side bottom panels.
- 3. An assembled and folded blank for a bulk container as claimed in claim 1 wherein the four bottom panels all have equal widths.
- 4. An assembled and folded blank for a bulk container as claimed in claim 2 wherein the four bottom panels all have equal widths.
- 5. An assembled and folded blank for a two-cell bulk container comprising
- a container body having two cells,
- said cells of the container body each including four sleeve wall panels and three integral vertical scorelines forming hinges serially joining the sleeve wall panels together with means including a fourth vertical scoreline forming a hinge securing the end wall panels of each series of sleeve wall panels together and wherein one wall panels of the respective series of four sleeve wall panels are bonded face-to-face to form a common wall,
- the other sleeve wall panels of each cell forming outside walls of the container body,
- two sets of three bottom panels hinged at horizontal score lines on the bottom edges of the respective three outside sleeve wall panels to form two side bottom panels and an end bottom panel on each cell,
- the two side bottom panels of said three bottom panels of each set being hinged to the opposite sides of the end bottom panel of said three bottom panels,
- said two side bottom panels of each set having respective partial diagonal score lines extending at one end from the respective corners defined by the vertical and horizontal score lines,
- said two side bottom panels of each set further having respective cuts extending from the distal edges of the side bottom panels to the other ends of the partial diagonal score lines such as to form partial bellows corners at each bottom end of the two-cell bulk container,
- a pair of center bottom panels hinged on the bottom edge of the common wall free of and separate from the two sets of three bottom panels, and
- said container body being folded flat by having the outside sleeve wall panels thereof folded together about diagonally opposite corners of the container with the common wall sandwiched therebetween.
- 6. An assembled and folded blank as claimed in claim 5 wherein the partial diagonal score lines extend less than 40% of the width across the two side panels of each set.
- 7. An assembled and folded blank as claimed in claim 5 wherein
- the one wall panels bonded face-to-face are one end wall panels of the respective cells, and
- the means including a fourth vertical scoreline securing the end sleeve wall panels of each cell together includes an inside joint flap hinged on the one end sleeve wall panel of each cell; and wherein the blank includes,
- a pair of liners formed from three serially joined liner wall panels bonded on the inside of the outside sleeve wall panels of the respective cells, and
- a pair of integral exterior joint flaps hinged on the other end sleeve panels of the respective cells,
- said exterior joint flaps being secured to the outside sleeve wall panels adjoining the one panels of the opposite cells.
- 8. An assembled and folded blank as claimed in claim 7 wherein the inside front flaps are joined to the inside surface of one end panel of the liner to offset the hinges between the one sleeve panels and inside joint flaps relative to the hinges between the one sleeve panels and the sleeve panels adjoining the one sleeve panels.
- 9. An assembled and folded blank as claimed in claim 7 including three top flaps hinged on the respective upper edges of the wall panels of each of the pair of liners.
- 10. An assembled and folded blank as claimed in claim 5 wherein the side bottom panels, the end bottom panels, and the center bottom panels all have equal widths.
