Assembly and method for a game

Abstract
An assembly and method for playing a travel game is disclosed and described.
Description

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[0001] This invention relates to assemblys and methods for playing games. More particularly, a game in which a cling film imprinted with a game board is secured to the inner part of a windshield. The game is played and scored similar to the game of darts. Points are recorded when insects are killed on the windshield in a region corresponding to the number on the game board.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0002] The previous one hundred years has seen many innovations in automobile travel. The family vacation still remains a very prominent part of our society. Throughout the years of family vacation travel, there have been a plethora of games and activities designed for the entertainment of the travelers. These have ranged from pocket-sized, and magnetic versions of popular games, such has chess and checkers, to hand held portable electronic games which have become increasingly sophisticated and affordable. However, the traveling populace still spends millions of dollars on diversions to be used on long trips. There seems to be no shortage of consumers for the increasing amount of diversions available to travelers. It is the object of the current invention to provide an assembly and method for providing a new assembly and game that is inexpensive to make, easy to play, and requires no special skills or abilities.

BREIF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0003]
FIG. 1. Shows the game board as printed on cling film.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

[0004] The manufacture and use of electrostatic cling films are commonly known. They can be fabricated from many plastics, polymers, vinyl and non-vinyl copolymers. Many of these acceptable cling film compositions disclosed in U.S. Pat. No. 6,171,681 incorporated herein by reference. The composition of the cling film would comprise any clear, substantially transparent, cling film of either a single layer, or alternatively more than one layer which is so formed in size and shape as to cling to the interior of a standard windshield of an automobile, truck, sport utility vehicle or other vehicle of choice. The cling film is imprinted with a game board or gaming device, for example, as is commonly seen in the game of darts. The method of playing the game is as follows: Attach the electrostatic cling film to the interior of the windshield of a vehicle, wait for an insect to strike the windshield of the moving vehicle, record points scored when an insect strikes the windshield of the traveling vehicle in the region corresponding to a number on the game board. There are many variations on the way the game is played. In one embodiment, players take turns and each player rotates taking the point scored for an insect on the windshield in rotation. In another embodiment, a player can roll a standard die, and be eligible to receive the points for the successive number of insects corresponding to the number on the die. In a further embodiment, players can decide on a predetermined number in which each player receives points for successive insects deposited on said windshield. After the number of successive insects has been reached, the next player collects points for successive insects striking the windshield. The scoring would proceed as in the game of darts, as is commonly known, with the bullseye being 50 points, and the circumferral region around the bullseye being 25 points. FIG. 1. illustrates the cling film 10, with imprinted game board 20 as printed on the cling film and viewed from the inside of the vehicle. A bug which has contacted the windshield 30, is shown to illustrate the embodiment of the invention. The game requires no particular skill, equipment, or game pieces and provides a novel way for travelers to be entertained on trips. Other embodiments include printed cling film with other games or activities such that said games or activities are played in a similar manner, i.e. insects stiking the windshield and the game proceding accordingly. Such games can include, but are not limited to: bingo, darts, archery, and lotto. Games can be played on one board or more than one board concurrently. The games may be played solely on the game board, or may also include external parts for scoring and/or playing. An example of such could be a bingo card in which individuals would record their game progress based on the bug striking the windshield.

[0005] Generally, the invention has been described in its preferred form or embodiment with some degree of particularity, it is to be understood that this description has been given only by way of example and that numerous changes in the details of construction, fabrication and use, including the combination and arrangement of parts, may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.
