Claims
- 1. A basket housing for use in a basket assembly in a railroad switch comprising:
an opening for receiving a rod or bar therethrough; at least one abutment for limiting lateral displacement of a surface associated with said rod or bar; and, means for rotatably retaining an arm associated with said housing.
- 2. The basket housing of claim 1 further comprising a head portion and a lower portion, said means for rotatably retaining an arm being located on said head portion.
- 3. The basket housing of claim 2 wherein said means for rotatably retaining an arm comprises a bore in said head portion, said bore being adapted to receive a pin for rotation in said bore and for connection to said arm.
- 4. The basket housing of claim 3 wherein said lower portion comprises means for securing a rod to said housing.
- 5. A basket assembly for use in a railroad switch comprising:
a housing having an opening for receiving a rod or bar therethrough, at least one abutment for limiting lateral displacement of a surface associated with said rod or bar member and a head portion, and a bore in said head portion for receiving a pin for rotation therein.
- 6. The basket assembly of claim 5 further comprising at least one torsion arm retained on said pin.
- 7. The basket assembly of claim 6 wherein said torsion arm comprises an elongated slot and one end of said pin extends through said elongated slot.
- 8. The basket assembly of claims 5, 6 or 7 further comprising attachment points on said housing for securing a switch rod assembly thereto.
- 9. The basket assembly of claim 6 or 7 wherein one end of said torsion arm is rigidly secured to an assist rod.
- 10. A basket assembly for use in a railroad switch comprising:
a sliding element having an opening for receiving a rod or bar therethrough; and, at least one arm rotatably mounted on said sliding element.
- 11. The basket assembly of claim 10 wherein said at least one arm comprises a pair of opposed arms.
- 12. The basket assembly of claim 11 wherein each of said opposed arms is rigidly secured to an assist rod.
- 13. The basket assembly of claims 10 or 11 wherein said rod or bar is hinged to a switch rod.
- 14. A basket assembly for use in a railroad switch comprising:
a sliding element having an opening for receiving a rod or bar therethrough; and, a pair of pins extending from opposed sides of said sliding element.
- 15. The basket assembly of claim 14 further comprising a pair of arms, each of said arms being mounted for rotation of one of said pins.
- 16. The basket assembly of claim 15 wherein said arms are rigidly connected to an assist rod.
