Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates generally to the field of lighters. More specifically, the present invention relates to an attachable lighter holder device comprised of a perforated, flexible body that can encase a lighter, allowing the device and lighter to be attached to a shoe, shoelace, or other desired item for the purposes of convenience and security. Accordingly, the present disclosure makes specific reference thereto. Nonetheless, it is to be appreciated that aspects of the present invention are also equally applicable to other like applications, devices, and methods of manufacture.

BACKGROUND

For individuals who regularly partake in traditional forms of smoking, it is often desirable to have a lighter available at any given time. However, lighters are often misplaced, lost, or stolen. It can also be inconvenient to store a lighter on one's person, especially if one does not have pockets, a bag or another storage option.

Therefore, there exists a long-felt need in the art for a device that provides a novel means of carrying and storing a lighter. More specifically, there exists a long-felt need in the art for an attachable lighter holder device that creates an encasement for a lighter and provides the user with improved options for storing and carrying the lighter. Furthermore, there exists a long-felt need in the art for an attachable lighter holder device that can be applied to a lighter to improve the convenience and security of carrying a lighter, wherein the device can be universally applied to virtually any lighter.

The subject matter disclosed and claimed herein, in one embodiment thereof, comprises an attachable lighter holder device. The device is comprised of a perforated body, preferably made from a flexible silicone or rubber material that forms to the shape of the lighter, allowing the device to securely encase the lighter. The perforations, or openings, align with a fastening element. In one embodiment, one end of the fastening element can be inserted into an opening on the device, while the second end of the fastening element can be inserted into an opening in a clog-type shoe. The openings in the device's body also allow for a shoelace, carabiner, or other exterior connector to be conveniently attached to the device. This allows the device and enclosed lighter to be conveniently and securely stored on an individual's shoe, clothing, or other desired item.

In this manner, the attachable lighter holder device of the present invention accomplishes all the forgoing objectives and provides a novel solution to carrying and storing a lighter. More specifically, the attachable lighter holder device creates an encasement for a lighter which provides the user with improved options for storing and carrying the device. Furthermore, the device can be universally applied to virtually any lighter.

SUMMARY

The following presents a simplified summary to provide a basic understanding of some aspects of the disclosed innovation. This summary is not an extensive overview, and it is not intended to identify key/critical elements or to delineate the scope thereof. The subject matter disclosed and claimed herein, in one embodiment thereof, comprises an attachable lighter holder device comprised of a perforated body, at least one fastener, and optional indicia. The device is designed to encase a lighter and provide the user with convenient and practical means of carrying and storing the lighter.

The device is comprised of a body, preferably made from a flexible silicone or rubber material that can securely encase a lighter. The device body is comprised of a series of perforated holes, or openings. In one ideal embodiment, the openings align with a fastening element. The fastening element is preferably made from a solid but flexible silicone or rubber material. It is ideally designed such that one end of the fastening element aligns with the openings on the device body, securing the fastener to the body. The device body may also be comprised of customizable indicia, such as the initials of the device's owner.

During use, the device is placed over a lighter, encasing the lighter within the body of the device. Then, one end of the fastening element is inserted into an opening on the device body. The second end of the fastening element is then inserted into an opening in the body of a clog-type shoe. As a result, the device is connected to the shoe, and the lighter and device are both securely attached to the shoe. Alternatively, the fastener can be replaced with a shoelace, carabiner, or other such fastening element, and the device can be attached to a wide variety of items, such as shoes, beltloops, purses, clothing, or another implement of the user's choosing.

The present invention is also comprised of a method of using the device. First, a device is provided comprised of a body with a lighter opening, at least one perforated opening, a fastener, and optional indicia. Then, a lighter is inserted into the device via the lighter opening, such that the device body securely encompasses the lighter. Next, one end of the fastener, comprised of a male member, is inserted into an opening in the body of the device. Then, the second end of the fastener is inserted into a hole or opening in a clog-style shoe. As a result, the lighter and device are securely and conveniently connected to the clog-style shoe.

The present invention is additionally comprised of a second method of using the device. First, a device is provided comprised of a body with a lighter opening, at least one perforated opening, and optional indicia. Then, an external fastener, such as a shoelace or carabiner, is strung through an opening in the body of the device. Next, the fastener is secured to the desired item. This could be a shoe, beltloop, purse, or other personal implement. As a result, the lighter and device are securely and conveniently connected to the chosen item.

The present invention is finally comprised of a third method of using the device. First, a device is provided comprised of a body with a lighter opening, at least one perforated opening, an attached fastener, and optional indicia. Then, the protruding end of the attached fastener is inserted into a hole or opening in a clog-style shoe. As a result, the lighter and device are securely and conveniently connected to the clog-style shoe.
