Claims
- 1. A quick-release mounting device configured to mount items to an all-terrain vehicle, the device comprising:
a) an all-terrain vehicle; b) a mounting assembly connected to a member of the all-terrain vehicle; and c) a receiving socket, connected to the mounting assembly, configured to receive an adapter; and d) a maintaining means for maintaining of the adapter in the receiving socket.
- 2. A quick-release mounting device in accordance with claim 1, further comprising an adapter holding an auxiliary item selected from the group consisting of firearms, spotting scopes, binoculars, monoculars, cameras, tools, and view magnification devices.
- 3. A quick-release mounting device in accordance with claim 2, wherein the auxiliary item is a spotting scope.
- 4. A quick-release mounting device in accordance with claim 2, wherein the auxiliary item is a camera.
- 5. A quick-release mounting device in accordance with claim 1, wherein the maintaining means is selected from the group consisting of screws, thumb screws, wing screws, pins, and press-fitting.
- 6. A quick-release mounting device in accordance with claim 1, wherein the receiving socket is connected to the mounting assembly using a vertical riser having an adjustable length.
- 7. A mounting system configured to removably mount auxiliary items to an all-terrain vehicle, the system comprising:
a) a mounting device having an attachment assembly configured to attach to the all-terrain vehicle and having a receiving assembly with a socket; b) a plurality of adapters, selectively and removably coupled to the mounting device, each having a holding end configured to hold the auxiliary item and a receivable end opposite the holding end, the receiving end being removably disposable in the socket; and c) a maintaining means, associated with the socket, for maintaining of the receivable end in the socket.
- 8. A mounting system in accordance with claim 7, wherein the auxiliary item is selected from the group consisting of firearms, spotting scopes, binoculars, monoculars, cameras, tools, and view magnification devices.
- 9. A mounting system in accordance with claim 8, wherein the auxiliary item is a spotting scope.
- 10. A mounting system in accordance with claim 8, wherein the auxiliary item is a camera.
- 11. A mounting system in accordance with claim 7, wherein the maintaining means is selected from the group consisting of screws, thumb screws, wing screws, pins, and press-fitting.
- 12. A mounting system in accordance with claim 7, wherein the receiving assembly is attached to the mounting device using a vertical riser having an adjustable length.
- 13. A method for mounting auxiliary items to an all-terrain vehicle, comprising the steps of:
a) attaching an attachment assembly of a mounting device to the all-terrain vehicle, the mounting device having a receiving assembly for receiving an adapter, the receiving assembly including a socket and a maintaining means for quick-release maintaining of an adapter in the socket; b) removably attaching at least one auxiliary item to a first end of at least one adapter, the first end removably holding the auxiliary item, and the adapter having a receivable end removably disposable in the socket; c) inserting the receivable end of the adapter into the socket of the mounting device; and d) engaging the maintaining means to selectively maintain the receivable end in the socket.
- 14. A method for mounting auxiliary items to an all-terrain vehicle in accordance with claim 13, wherein the step of removably attaching includes attaching each of a plurality of auxiliary items to an equal number of adapters.
- 15. A method for mounting auxiliary items to an all-terrain vehicle in accordance with claim 13, wherein the mounting device is attached to the all-terrain vehicle at a position selected from the group consisting of handlebars, cargo rack, and all-terrain vehicle frame.
- 16. A method for mounting auxiliary items to an all-terrain vehicle in accordance with claim 13, wherein the auxiliary items are selected from the group consisting of firearms, spotting scopes, binoculars, monoculars, cameras, tools, and view magnification devices.
- 17. A method for mounting auxiliary items to an all-terrain vehicle in accordance with claim 13, wherein the maintaining means is selected from the group consisting of screws, thumb-screws, wing-screws, pins, and press-fitting.
- 18. A method for mounting auxiliary items to an all-terrain vehicle in accordance with claim 13, further comprising the steps of:
a) disengaging the maintaining means; b) removing the receivable end from the socket; c) inserting a receivable end of a second adapter into the socket of the mounting device; and d) engaging the maintaining means to selectively maintain the receivable end in the socket.
- 19. A mounting device configured to mount items to an all-terrain vehicle, the device comprising:
a) an all-terrain vehicle; b) a mounting assembly connected to a member of the all-terrain vehicle; c) a telescoping shank connected to the mounting assembly, configured for variable adjustment of shank length; and d) an attachment surface, connected to the telescoping shank, and configured for securing an item to the surface.
- 20. A mounting device in accordance with claim 19, wherein the mounting assembly comprises:
a) a rod member having a length and a connecting end configured for connecting to the telescoping shank and two parallel holes transverse the length of the rod; and b) a U-shaped bolt having retaining members at each end and configured for placement in the two parallel holes.
- 21. A mounting device in accordance with claim 20, wherein the connecting end of the rod member includes a rapid detaching member associated with the telescoping shank.
- 22. A mounting device in accordance with claim 19, wherein the mounting assembly comprises:
a) a connecting end connected to the telescoping shank; and b) a mounting end connected to the member of the all-terrain vehicle, wherein the mounting end comprises either a clamp or parallel plates joined by at least two transverse bolts secured by nuts.
- 23. A hunting implement mounting device configured to mount hunting implements to an all-terrain vehicle, the device comprising:
a) an all-terrain vehicle; b) a mounting assembly connected to a member of the all-terrain vehicle; c) an attachment surface connected to the mounting assembly and capable of holding at least one hunting implement thereon; d) a maintaining means for maintaining of the hunting implement on the all-terrain vehicle; and e) at least two hunting implements, interchangeable and releasably secured to the attachment surface.
- 24. A hunting implement mounting device in accordance with claim 23, wherein the maintaining means is located at the attachment surface for quick-release of the attachment surface from the mounting assembly.
- 25. A hunting implement mounting device in accordance with claim 23, wherein the maintaining means is located at the mounting assembly for quick-release of the entire mounting device from the all-terrain vehicle.
- 26. A hunting implement mounting device in accordance with claim 23, wherein the hunting implement is selected from the group consisting of firearm, bow, spotting scope, binoculars, fishing rod, net and camera.
- 27. A hunting implement mounting device in accordance with claim 23, further comprising a rifle rest having a base attached to the attachment surface and shaped to receive a rifle.
- 28. A hunting implement mounting device in accordance with claim 23, wherein at least the mounting assembly and the attachment surface of the mounting device are substantially collinear to produce a substantially vertical device which minimizes obstruction of neighboring areas.
