Claims
- 1. An automated banking machine apparatus comprising:a housing; a currency dispenser device, a delivery area, wherein the delivery area comprises an area to which currency is deliverable by the currency dispenser device to users of the machine; a window adjacent the delivery area; at least one illumination source in operative connection with the housing; wherein the window and the at least one illumination source are movable relative to one another while in supporting connection with the housing, and wherein in operative position the at least one illumination source is generally vertically aligned with the window to enable illumination of the delivery area.
- 2. The apparatus according to claim 1 wherein the delivery area is in supporting connection with a movable door and wherein the operative position is the closed position of the door, and wherein in the closed position of the door the at least one illumination source is generally vertically aligned with the window.
- 3. The apparatus according to claim 2 and further comprising a rollout tray movably mounted relative to the housing above the delivery area, and wherein the at least one illumination source is in supporting connection with the rollout tray.
- 4. The apparatus according to claim 3 and further comprising a fascia portion in supporting connection with the rollout tray, and wherein in the closed position of the fascia portion and in the closed position of the door, the at least one illumination source is generally vertically aligned with the window.
- 5. The apparatus according to claim 4 and wherein the housing comprises a chest portion, and wherein the currency dispenser device is housed in the chest portion, and wherein the movable door controls access to the chest portion.
- 6. The apparatus according to claim 1 and further comprising a controller in operative connection with the at least one illumination source and the currency dispenser device, and wherein the controller is operative to initiate the illumination of the delivery area when currency is delivered to the delivery area.
- 7. The apparatus according to claim 6 and further comprising a deposit acceptance area operative to accept items from users of the machine into the housing, and a further window adjacent the deposit acceptance area, wherein the further window and the at least one illumination source are movable relative to one another while in supporting connection with the housing, and wherein in the operative position the at least one illumination source is sufficiently aligned with the further window to enable illumination of the deposit acceptance area.
- 8. The apparatus according to claim 7 wherein the controller is operative to cause the deposit acceptance area to be illuminated when the deposit acceptance area is enabled to accept deposits.
- 9. The apparatus according to claim 8 and further comprising a rollout tray movably mounted in supporting connection with the housing above the deposit acceptance area, and wherein the at least one illumination source is in supporting connection with the rollout tray, and wherein in a retracted position of the tray the at least one illumination source is enabled to illuminate the delivery area and the deposit acceptance area.
- 10. The apparatus according to claim 9 and further comprising a display and a fascia portion in supporting connection with the rollout tray.
- 11. The apparatus according to claim 10 wherein the housing includes a chest portion, wherein the chest portion houses the currency dispenser device, and wherein the housing further includes a first portion in the housing outside of the chest portion, and a further fascia portion movably mounted in supporting connection with the housing and movable to control access to the first portion, and further comprising a fascia lock operative to control movement of the further fascia portion to access the first portion, and further comprising a chest lock input device within the first portion, wherein at least one input to the chest lock input device is operative to enable access to the chest portion.
- 12. The apparatus according to claim 11 and further comprising an actuator in the first portion, wherein manipulation of the actuator enables the rollout tray to be moved from a retracted position to an extended position.
- 13. The apparatus according to claim 12 wherein in the retracted position of the rollout tray an air cooling opening extends above the display and a baffle extends in intermediate relation of the air cooling opening and the display.
- 14. The apparatus according to claim 1 wherein the housing includes a recessed pocket, and wherein the delivery area extends within the recessed pocket.
- 15. The apparatus according to claim 1 wherein the window is movable relative to the housing while in supporting connection with the housing, and wherein the at least one illumination source is movable relative to the housing while in supporting connection with the housing.
- 16. The apparatus according to claim 1 wherein the window comprises a light transmissive structure.
- 17. An automated banking machine comprising:a housing; at least one of a currency dispenser device and a deposit accepting device; a movable door, wherein the door is movable relative to the housing while in supporting connection with the housing; wherein the door includes an area, wherein the door is operative to enable at least one of the currency dispenser device to deliver to the area currency to users of the machine and the deposit accepting device to receive from the area items for deposit from users of the machine; wherein the door includes a window adjacent the area, wherein the window comprises a light transmissive structure; at least one illumination source, wherein the at least one illumination source is movable relative to the housing while in operative connection with the housing; wherein the window and the at least one illumination source are movable relative to one another, and wherein in an operative position the at least one illumination source is sufficiently aligned with the window to enable illumination of the area.
- 18. The automated banking machine according to claim 17 and further comprising a recessed pocket in the machine, and wherein the area extends in the recessed pocket.
- 19. The apparatus according to claim 17 and further comprising a rollout tray movably mounted relative to the housing, wherein the rollout tray is movable above the door, and wherein the at least one illumination source is in supporting connection with the rollout tray.
- 20. The apparatus according to claim 17 wherein at least one of the currency dispenser device and the deposit accepting device are housed in a secure chest portion, wherein the chest portion comprises a chest door, and wherein chest door comprises the movable door.
- 21. The apparatus according to claim 20wherein the door is movable between an open door position and a closed door position, wherein the at least one illumination source is in supporting connection with a rollout tray, wherein the rollout tray is movable relative to the housing, wherein the rollout tray is movable between an open rollout tray position and a closed rollout tray position, wherein the door and the rollout tray are movable relative to one another, and wherein the operative position includes both the closed door position and the closed rollout tray position.
- 22. A method comprising:(a) opening a fascia lock in operative connection with a first fascia portion of an automated banking machine; (b) subsequent to (a) moving the first fascia portion relative to a housing of the machine to enable access to a first portion of an upper housing area of the machine; (c) manipulating at least one device located in the first portion to enable movement relative to the housing of at least one of a second fascia portion or a chest door, wherein the chest door includes in supporting connection therewith at least one transaction area having at least one window adjacent thereto; (d) moving the at least one further fascia portion or chest door relative to the housing such that at least one illumination source on the machine that is enabled to illuminate the transaction area through the at least one window prior to moving, is disposed relative to the at least one window so as to no longer be enabled to illuminate the transaction area.
- 23. The method according to claim 22 wherein (c) comprises manipulating an actuator in the first portion, and wherein (d) comprises moving the further fascia portion relative to the housing such that the at least one illumination source in operative connection with the further fascia portion is disposed from the at least one window.
- 24. The method according to claim 23 and further comprising:(e) moving the further fascia portion to a position wherein the at least one illumination source is sufficiently aligned with the at least one window to illuminate the at least one transaction area.
- 25. The method according to claim 24 and further comprising:subsequent to (e) closing the first fascia portion and locking the fascia lock.
- 26. The method according to claim 23 wherein the further fascia portion is in supporting connection with a rollout tray, and wherein (d) comprises moving the rollout tray relative to the housing.
- 27. The method according to claim 22 wherein (c) comprises providing at least one input to a chest lock input device in the first portion, and wherein (d) comprises moving the chest door relative to the housing to an open position such that the at least one illumination source is disposed from the at least one window such that the at least one illumination source is no longer enabled to illuminate the transaction area.
- 28. The method according to claim 27 wherein with the chest door in the open position further comprising:(e) accessing at least one of a currency dispenser device and a deposit accepting device in the chest portion.
- 29. The method according to claim 28 and subsequent to (e) further comprising:(f) closing the chest door wherein in a closed position of the chest door the at least one illumination source is sufficiently aligned with the at least one window to illuminate the at least one transaction area.
- 30. The method according to claim 29 and subsequent to (f) further comprising:closing the first fascia portion and locking the first fascia lock.
- 31. The method according to claim 30 and further comprising:operating the machine to dispense currency through the transaction area; changing the illumination of the transaction area when currency is delivered to the transaction area.
- 32. The method according to claim 30 and further comprising:operating the machine to dispense currency from the machine through the transaction area; initiating illumination of the transaction area when currency is delivered through the transaction area.
- 33. The method according to claim 30 and further comprising:operating the machine to accept a deposit through the transaction area changing the illumination of the transaction area when the transaction area is operative to accept a deposit.
- 34. The method according to claim 30 and further comprising:operating the machine to accept a deposit through the transaction area; initiating illumination of the transaction area when the transaction area is operative to accept a deposit.
- 35. The method according to claim 22 wherein the chest door includes at least one recessed pocket, wherein at least one transaction area and at least one window is positioned in the recessed pocket, and wherein in (d) the at least one illumination source is disposed from the at least one recessed pocket.
- 36. The method according to claim 35 wherein the chest door includes a delivery area adapted to dispense currency to users of the machine, a first recessed pocket including the delivery area, and a first window adjacent the first pocket, and a deposit acceptance area adapted to receive deposits into the machine, a second recessed pocket including the deposit acceptance area, and a second window adjacent the second pocket, wherein in (d) the at least one illumination source is disposed from both the first pocket and the second pocket.
- 37. The method according to claim 22 wherein the chest door includes a translucent member in the at least one window and wherein prior to (d) the transaction area is enabled to be illuminated through the at least one translucent member.
- 38. The method according to claim 22 wherein the chest door comprises a window adjacent the transaction area and a further window adjacent the at least one illumination source, and wherein prior to (d) the transaction area is enabled to be illuminated by the illumination source through the window and further window.
- 39. The method according to claim 38 wherein at least one translucent member extends in at least one of the window and further window, and wherein prior to (d) the transaction area is enabled to be illuminated by the illumination source through the at least one translucent member.
- 40. An automated banking machine comprising:a housing, wherein the housing comprises a housing body, a currency dispenser housed in the housing, a first member, wherein the first member is movable relative to the housing body while in supporting connection with the housing body, wherein the first member is movable between an open position and a closed position, wherein the closed position closes a housing body opening, wherein the first member includes at least one pocket, wherein the at least one pocket includes at least one window, a second member, wherein the second member is movable relative to the housing body while in operative connection with the housing body, wherein the second member is movable between a second member open position and a second member closed position, wherein the second member closed position closes a housing body opening, wherein the second member supports at least one illumination source, wherein an illumination source is generally aligned with a pocket window so as to be positioned to illuminate the pocket through the window when the first member is in the closed position and the second member is in the second member closed position, wherein the first member and second member are movable relative to each other to cause the illumination source to be out of alignment with the window so as to no longer be positioned to illuminate the pocket through the window.
- 41. The apparatus according to claim 40 wherein the currency dispenser is housed in a chest, wherein the first member comprises a door of the chest.
- 42. An automated banking machine comprising:a housing, a secure chest, wherein the chest includes a movable chest door, wherein the door includes at least one transaction area, wherein each transaction area is accessible to a user of the machine, wherein a transaction area includes at least one window, wherein a window comprises a light transmissive structure, a movable member, wherein the member supports an illumination source, wherein the member is movable relative to the chest while in operative connection with the housing, wherein the member is movable between an open position and a closed position, wherein in the open position the illumination source is located outside the housing, wherein in the closed position the illumination source is positioned to enable illumination of the transaction area through the window, wherein the illumination source is operative to illuminate the transaction area when the illumination source is generally aligned with the window.
