Claims
- 1. An illumination device, which is employed with a focus detection apparatus for detecting focus conditions of a photo-taking lens with respect to an axial and at least an off-axial focus detection areas and projects light toward an object field so as to illuminate regions corresponding to the focus detection area, comprising:
- means for emitting light;
- a plurality of lens elements each of which corresponds to each of the focus detection area, respectively and is located in front of the light emitting means, wherein at least one lens element corresponds to an axial focus detection area and at least one lens element corresponds to an off-axial focus detection area.
- 2. An illumination device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the plurality of lens elements constitute a single lens member.
- 3. An illumination device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the light emitting means is a light emitting diode.
- 4. An illumination device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the lens element corresponding to the off-axial focus detection area is a cylindrical lens element.
