Claims
- 1. Apparatus for popping popcorn comprising:a tiltable kettle including a heater to heat the kettle during a cooking cycle for popping uncooked popcorn placed therein; a thermocouple operably coupled to sense the temperature of the heated kettle and generate a temperature signal indicative of the kettle temperature; a dump motor operably coupled to selectively tilt the kettle from an upright position and dump the popcorn; a temperature controller operable to receive said sensed kettle temperature signal from the thermocouple and operatively coupled to the dump motor to initiate automatic tilting of the kettle from an upright position and dumping of the popcorn when the kettle temperature exceeds a predetermined dump temperature upon completion of the cooking cycle.
- 2. The apparatus of claim 1 further comprising a controller responsive to the temperature controller and operable to activate the dump motor to automatically tilt the kettle from the upright position to dump the popcorn when the kettle exceeds the predetermined dump temperature upon completion of a cooking cycle.
- 3. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein the temperature controller is operatively coupled to the heater to control heating of the kettle.
- 4. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein the temperature controller is responsive to said sensed kettle temperature signal from the thermocouple and operatively coupled to the heater to control heating of the kettle.
