Claims
- 1. An automotive automatic air conditioning system comprising:
- a variable displacement compressor;
- a condenser;
- an expansion valve;
- an evaporator;
- means, disposed between an outlet of said expansion valve and an inlet of said evaporator, for monitoring a refrigerant temperature, said monitoring means generating a signal representative of said refrigerant temperature;
- means for setting a target refrigerant temperature, said setting means generating a signal representative of said target refrigerant temperature;
- means for controlling the discharge volume of refrigerant from said compressor in response to the signal from said monitoring means such that said refrigerant temperature reaches the target refrigerant temperature set by said setting means;
- wherein said setting means sets said target refrigerant temperature to a predetermined low temperature for a designated period of time so that said means for controlling drives said compressor to provide high dehumidification performance.
- 2. An automotive automatic air conditioning system for a vehicle having a cabin, said system comprising:
- a variable displacement compressor;
- a condenser;
- an expansion valve;
- an evaporator;
- means disposed between an outlet of said expansion valve and an inlet of said evaporator for monitoring a refrigerant temperature, said refrigerant temperature monitoring means generating a signal representative of said refrigerant temperature;
- means for monitoring an ambient air temperature outside of the vehicular cabin, said ambient temperature monitoring means generating a signal representative of said ambient air temperature;
- means for setting a first target refrigerant temperature and a second target refrigerant temperature lower than said first target refrigerant temperature in response to the signal from said ambient temperature monitoring means, said setting means generating a first signal representative of said first target refrigerant temperature and a second signal representative of said second target refrigerant temperature; and
- means for controlling the discharge of said compressor in response to the signal from said refrigerant temperature monitoring means such that said refrigerant temperature cyclically and alternatively reaches said first and second target refrigerant temperatures set by said setting means.
- 3. The automotive automatic air conditioning system as set forth in claim 2, further comprising a switchable fresh/recirculation intake door cooperating with an air conditioning duct of said system, and means for determining whether said switachable fresh/recirculation air intake door is in a fresh position wherein fresh air is introduced into the air conditioning duct of said system or in a recirculation position wherein recirculated air is introduced into the air conditioning duct and for generating a signal representative of the position of said air intake door, such that said setting means selectively sets said first and second target refrigerant temperatures in response to the signals from said position monitoring means.
- 4. An automotive automatic air conditioning system for a vehicle having a cabin, said system comprising:
- a variable displacement compressor;
- a condenser;
- an expansion valve;
- an evaporator;
- means disposed between an outlet of said expansion valve and an inlet of said evaporator for monitoring refrigerant temperature, said refrigerant temperature monitoring means generating a signal representative of said refrigerant temperature;
- means for monitoring an ambient air temperature outside of the vehicular cabin, said ambient temperature monitoring means generating a signal representative of said ambient air temperature;
- means for determining whether said ambient air temperature is within a predetermined low temperature range;
- means for controlling the discharge of refrigerant from said compressor in response to the signal from said refrigerant temperature monitoring means such that said refrigerant temperature reaches said target refrigerant temperature set by said setting means, when said determining means determines that said ambient air temperature is within said predetermined low temperature range ; and
- said refrigerant discharge controlling means outputting a control signal to said variable displacement compressor to control the discharge of refrigerant from said compressor.
- 5. The automotive automatic air conditioning system as set forth in claim 4, which further comprises a blower and means for controlling the amount of air discharged from said blower such that a minimum amount of air to be discharged from said blower is incremented by a predetermined amount, when the discharge from said compressor is controlled by said discharge controlling means of said compressor under conditions of said predetermined low ambient temperatures.
- 6. The automotive automatic air conditioning system as set forth in claim 4, which further comprises a condenser fan cooperating with said condenser and means for controlling the revolution speed of said condenser fan in response to said control signal from said refrigerant discharge controlling means, such that the speed of said condenser fan is changed in proportion to the discharge of refrigerant from said compressor.
