My patented idea for the Automotive Exhaust Pipe Safety Cover is to cover the exposed end of any exhaust pipe or tail pipe with a metal grill so that nothing can be inserted in the exhaust pipe or tail pipe such as a sponge ball, a rag, etc. There are two options; first, an Automotive Exhaust Pipe Safety Cover cap that can be fitted onto existing exhaust pipes; or secondly, by making future exhaust pipes and tail pipes with a metal grill attached to the exposed end. Covering the exposed part of the exhaust pipe or tail pipe where the fumes are emitted greatly minimizes anything being inserted into the pipe that could cause a blockage and the backup of deadly carbon monoxide poisoning. Because the covering would be in a metal grill form, fumes would still be allowed to escape through the exhaust pipe or tail pipe.
The nature of my invention, the Automotive Exhaust Pipe Safety Cover, is to protect the opening of all exhaust pipes and tail pipes. This safety cover is made one of two ways; either in a 4 ½ inch long safety cap with a metal mesh grill and solid metal sides with a diameter to fit exhaust pipes and tail pipes that can be welded to any exhaust pipe or tail pipe, or it can be made as part of new exhaust pipes or tail pipes.
The Automotive Exhaust Pipe Safety Cover can be made already attached to the end of any exhaust pipe or it can be made like a metal grilled cap that fits onto the end of an existing exhaust pipe or tail pipe. If using the cap, it will be welded or soldered onto the exhaust pipe or tail pipe. If using the cap, the area around the exhaust pipe or tail pipe needs to be wiped thoroughly clean before welding or soldering the cap onto the existing exhaust pipe or tail pipe. New tail pipes would be made with the metal grill already attached at the exposed End B, and existing automotive exhaust pipes or tail pipes can be fitted with the metal grill safety cap at any dealership or automotive service center. The importance of making the grill part (End B and End B1) out of metal is so that it cannot easily be cut or tampered with. All Automotive Exhaust Pipe Safety Covers are metal grill covers with at least four vertical wires or thin rods and at least eight horizontal wires or thin rods that is made onto all exhaust pipes or tail pipes, or made into a cap to fit existing exhaust pipes or tail pipes.
End A is the end of the tail pipe that goes up into the car, truck, boat, RV, or any mechanical device that uses an exhaust pipe or tail pipe. End B is the end of the tail pipe that is exposed at the rear of the vehicle. It is shown with a metal grill safety cover over this end. End A1 is the end of the cap that fits onto existing exhaust pipes and tail pipes. End B1 is the end of the tail pipe that is exposed at the rear of the vehicle. It is shown with a metal grill safety cover over this end. Both of these drawings show my patented idea to have a metal grill cover the exposed end of the exhaust pipe or tail pipe.
