Claims
- 1. A burner assembly for a liquid fuel heater comprising, in combination,
- a burner body having a cylindrical region,
- a fuel wick disposed about said cylindrical region,
- a bearing for rotatably supporting said body,
- means for rotating said body including a solenoid and an overrunning clutch, said overrunning clutch having a first portion secured to said body and a second portion linked to said solenoid.
- 2. The burner assembly of claim 1 wherein said wick includes at least two layers of fiberglass fabric.
- 3. The burner assembly of claim 1 wherein said burner assembly includes a stationary cleaning arm disposed adjacent said wick.
- 4. The burner assembly of claim 1 further including a glow plug disposed adjacent said wick.
- 5. The burner assembly of claim 1 wherein said second portion of said overrunning clutch is linked to said solenoid by a bell crank and said bell crank is coupled to a tension spring.
- 6. The burner assembly of claim 1 wherein said solenoid rotates said wick in increments.
- 7. A burner assembly adapted for use with liquid fuel comprising, in combination,
- a cylindrical burner body,
- a fuel wick secured to said burner body,
- a bearing for rotatably supporting said burner body, and
- drive means for rotating said burner body and said fuel wick.
- 8. The burner assembly of claim 7 wherein said fuel wick is cylindrical and includes a layer of fiberglass fabric.
- 9. The burner assembly of claim 7 wherein said burner assembly includes a stationary cleaning arm disposed adjacent said fuel wick.
- 10. The burner assembly of claim 7 further including a glow plug disposed adjacent said fuel wick.
- 11. The burner assembly of claim 7 wherein said drive means includes a solenoid, a one-way drive device disposed on said burner body and a linkage connecting said solenoid and said one-way drive device.
- 12. The burner assembly of claim 11 wherein said burner body and said fuel wick are incrementally rotated and said linkage includes a bell crank and return spring.
- 13. The burner assembly of claim 11 wherein said one-way drive device is an overrunning clutch.
- 14. The burner assembly of claim 11 further including a fuel line having an outlet disposed adjacent said fuel wick and a fuel pump for providing liquid fuel to said fuel line.
- 15. A burner assembly adapted for use with liquid fuel comprising, in combination,
- a rotatable burner body,
- a fuel wick disposed about at least a portion of said burner body,
- a bearing for rotatably supporting said burner body, and
- a drive mechanism for rotating said burner body and said fuel wick.
- 16. The burner assembly of claim 15 wherein said burner assembly includes a stationary cleaning arm disposed adjacent said fuel wick.
- 17. The burner assembly of claim 15 further including a glow plug disposed adjacent said fuel wick.
- 18. The burner assembly of claim 15 further including a cylindrical housing for receiving said burner body.
- 19. The burner assembly of claim 15 wherein said drive mechanism includes a solenoid, a one-way drive device disposed on said burner body and a linkage connecting said solenoid and said one-way drive mechanism.
- 20. The burner assembly of claim 15 wherein said drive mechanism includes an overrunning clutch and said burner body is incrementally rotated.
- 21. A burner assembly adapted for use with liquid fuel comprising, in combination,
- a cylindrical burner body,
- a fuel wick secured to said burner body,
- a bearing for rotatably supporting said burner body,
- drive means for rotating said burner body and said fuel wick, and
- a stationary cleaning arm disposed adjacent said fuel wick.
- 22. A burner assembly adapted for use with liquid fuel comprising, in combination,
- a rotatable burner body,
- a fuel wick disposed about at least a portion of said burner body,
- a bearing for rotatably supporting said burner body, and
- a drive mechanism for rotating said burner body and said fuel wick, said drive mechanism including a solenoid, a one-way drive device disposed on said burner body and a linkage connecting said solenoid and said one-way drive mechanism.
