Claims
- 1. An axial flow fan comprising:a bipolar motor comprising a magnet mounted inside a yoke and a stator assembly including a core, at least two windings and a printed circuit board secured to said core and electrically connected to said at least two windings; an impeller having a plurality of narrow chord blades rigidly connected to the yoke; and a reduced axial fan width housing; wherein the maximum thickness of each blade of said plurality of narrow chord blades and the maximum camber of each blade are positioned along the chord line of each blade such that the bipolar motor, circuitry, narrow chord blades and housing provide a reduced axial width fan of about 1″ that generates a volumetric flow rate of between approximately 225 and 255 cubic feet per minute when the impeller rotates at between approximately 3200 and 3600 RPM and the inlet air density is about 0.075 per pounds per cubic foot.
- 2. An axial flow fan comprising:a motor; an impeller having narrow chord blades; and a fan housing; wherein, the narrow chord blades having a cross sectional shape, taken anywhere along the radius of said blade, characterized by a maximum thickness located substantially constantly between about 16% chord to about 23% chord and a maximum camber located substantially constantly between about 40% chord to about 51% chord.
